bikes etc

I remember a guy had a kayak on his 2-11, so you'd think a pair of bikes on the hoop would be possible?

How about a BMW 5 series estate?

I've now got a 530d saloon, and it's a great car for eating up the miles on the motorway, and easy commuting.

Not quite as nimble as a 3 series, but loads more room in the back and more refined.

I use our 'van' for those kind of duties (the Golf). :thumbsup

Scotty what about an E350. A bit bigger more toys etc. I really like the look of them. Possibly my next work hack. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... obcid=soc4

John I've been looking at 5's, but not many patrols going about and I've been put of diesels by Kev Arthur.

forgive me for being a total idiot, but why not replace van with a van?
Also have a T5 Kombi LWB as my daily, for bikes, dogs, kids etc.

I had various bike Audi and BMW estates before hoping to the van. Missus and I both loved the E60 530d, and mine was at Kevs as well resolving an injector issue but did 20k miles like clockwork until we sold it two years later. post LCI (55 plate onwards) they are better though. if you want to avoid the 6pot oils, the V8s are also bloody great, but tourings are like hens teeth.

Kidding yourself on Scotty. :damnfunny Just embrace the fact that you're getting older and use it to your benefit.

My other car is an older E class 3l diesel. So comfy and easy to drive on the normal crappy drives. 3 litre diesel is nice and punchy when you need it. Permanently tuned to smoooooth radio too. :thumbsup I love the fact that Merc put the indicator stock lower than most so you don't even have to lift your hand off the armrest to indicate.

My favourite toy is the "rest" button which keeps circulating the heat through the heaters even when the car is switched off. Great when you're sitting in the car waiting on someone and you can turn off the engine and still have the heaters keeping you cosy whilst watching a DVD and no misting up. :D Yep I'm getting old too and I don't care anymore..............

is a V10 RS6 in budget?

Planning bikes in car or on car?

Would you consider going back in time? ie RS2? or a 70's merc?

just to keep the bus thread going...

 What's wrong with the diesels? (bought a 525d a few months ago)
