I'll put that one down to mediocre at best. It had it's entertaining moments.
The cycling thing was dull and slightly annoying from the perspective of someone who actually does cycle on roads though the bus thing was absolute fact.
The Porsche was nice, possibly even more so than the McLaren (from some angles..) but still fell into the trap of being maybe a little too reserved, or maybe just not different enough to the Carerra GT?
The BMW spin was pointless in that it needed to be better explained, which of course would be too much car geekery for Top Gear, if indeed it wasn't entirely faked. It seemed like the only real point was to create an episode long running joke.
It also makes me wonder how much power Top Gear have towards the buying public. Can a car like the M135i gain a bad reputation based on something like that..?
Also, since I'm moaning, is anyone else annoyed by paying a licence fee and being bombarded by a 3 minute long Vauxhall commercial every week..
Clarkson used to comment on previous 'reasonably priced' cars as being slow, under-steering, having no power, jokes about them being crap, but now says something good almost every week, the race seats miraculously have a Vauxhall badge embroidered into them, and I don't see it as reasonably priced either..
Hoping the next couple are decent, I think the specials work since they take it away from the studio / car review setting and concentrate on the entertainment part - ie, they pretend to be a motoring show a lot less!
