I assume you have not driven a modern diesel then? Certainly the lastest ones I have driven are very responsive and free revving.

Jag v6 tdi would be awesome in a liz.

with respect, just how many times have people said this?

today, just for example, I was at an Audi day, drive 8 cars, 3 were their latest dismals, and yes, they are good, but, not a patch on their better petrol variants.

the best dismal they have at the moment is the one in the SQ5, and it's impressive, BUT, it's still pretty lethargic compared to the 3L petrol engine.

I can beat that, by taking my diesel Rangie round the Nurburgring, with 4 fellow SE'ers on board, and Ape trying to get past us, by sending us texts, telling us to get out of the way, and stop causing such a smokescreen!
have just dug out a photo to prove it. As you can see Ape was well behind, and had no chance of overtaking............. :D

I think i was playing 'angry birds' when that photo was taken :P

if i remember rightly Iain, you were hanging out the sunroof to get the porsche photo?

I still had my helmet on, as i was coming down the final straight when the GT went past on the road in the opposite direction, and i drove straight off the track, out the carpark and down the main road :D

What was the daughter in law's tattoo again? Was it a Salamander or Ghekko? Whatever it was, its tail disappeared into an interesting place, maybe Ali might remember...........

This is a great thread drift, far better than listening to scuffers arguing with himself! ( No offence Simon, just friendly banter! ) :cheers :cheers

I'm enjoying the thread drift too as it's making me reminise about my few Northloop trips, ah those were the days!!

I just hope you had track day insurance for that Rangie!!

I believe that particular Ammaretto fueled euro thrash was in '06 and included Spa, 2x340R and the now infamous wankR.

That trip was the birth of WankR

Bob van Melzen kept pestering me to put an R sticker on my car after I got the Honda. I eventually say I couldn't be arsed, but he could put whatever sticker he liked on it if he felt so strongly about the red R sticker.

THE VERY NEXT DAY, I woke up to that sticker. I still to this day don't have a clue how they got it made so fast.
