Agree but looking on Pistonheads all the lovely white 8C Spyders have gone  (due to their suspension being better than he coupe)

Enjoyed last night episode, just wish you could get that Disco Volante as a ring tone for your phone

Yep, the Disco Volante was stunning, but I couldn't help but think that there is one less 8c in the world because of it ;)

Both Caterhams were awesome, lots of mention of the 620R on here, but the more traditional Lotus 7 look, and that tiny 80bhp on skinny tyres really appealed to me, though maybe 80 isn't quite enough, and I kept thinking an ex-academy car would probably represent a better purchase.

The big Merc was a tad silly, but impressive to see what it can do none the less.

For me, a decent episode.

The Disco Volante did not really do it for me - I did not dislike it, but can't help thinking I prefer the looks of the 8c more. It did however sound wonderful.

The first episode in this series was poor, and had me worried, but since then, I think the shows have been great.

I need a 6x6 in my life! 8) I believe it is actually the running gear of a 'Mog underneath - hence the massive ground clearance. Surprised it was not mentioned - although probably considered too technical for the mass audience.

Just wish May would show a bit more common sense, what the hell does he think he is going to get in his face driving a 620R with no windscreen, and not even wearing sun glasses, never mind a helmet.

I only ever wore a lid in very heavy rain, and only because the goggles would mist up.

Bugs and general schrapnel on the forehead were part of the experience, only hailstones at 70mph returning once from KH had me genuinely swearing from the pain :blackeye

Found the alfa thing interesting, could see where James may was coming from, the 6x6 thing was rubbish and the bit at the end - depressing.

I thought that 6x6 would be a blast for a weekend hire in the dessert. Too silly for anywhere else.
James May is probably right about that little Caterham but I don't think it would take long for the lack of power and grip to become a PITA.

The Se7en 160 is a great entry level prospect for youngsters.

Pretty nippy within speed limit boundaries too.

Would teach em all they need to know. Including how to build one if you are brave enough to buy a kit...

Youngsters? You must mean 30-40 year olds ;-)
None of the younger folk I know would be seen dead in that, far too old fashioned looking. Looks like it fell out of the fifties
Most of them can't see past a Fiesta ST - the latest boy racer mobile.

:withstupid

'Youngsters' are only interested in hot hatches or true exotica.
My nieces and nephews dream of Fiat 500s and specced up Vauxhall Adams ffs

Edit to add: Youngsters also only dream of buying new - nothing so demeaning as a second hand motor :blackeye

My 15.5yr old daughter was all excited at the prospect of Mum getting a new fiat 500, as she'd be driving it in 18mths.

But then took the huff when we went for a Skoda Citigo instead, regardless of it being safer, cheaper, more spacious, more economical, and far cheaper to insure for a 17yr old :D

Reminds me of my parent's car buying when I was that age. My big sister learned to drive, and subsequently used mum's Nova SR. Just before I turned 17, they traded the Nova in for a 1.3 escort, especially as I was to be using it.

Depends who's paying, eh.

We'll see in circa 8 years...
