I always wondered why Geary gave up on the Busha?

RST V8 is the way to go, if you can aford it and a Gear box?

and rebuilds - Walshy reckoned that thing was insane. It sounds like its destined to go pop, and watching that chap in the caterfield be spat ay 90 degree in to the pitwall at KH with his seized bike engine didn't inspire confidence.

Still would love a spin in Lawrence's 7 :D

the RST V8 isnt a bike engine, its a bespoke car engine. and its is as good as he said it is. I drove it in the caterham. 340bhp in a 500kg caterham. NIIIIIIIIIICCCCEEE

the radical engine and RST are meant to be very different engines, albeit on paper they look similar.

The cat has done 32000 miles, alot of them with walshy driving. Its a great engine. theres just the small matter of 20K

or in another words you could have a Honda'd S1 for the engine cost alone!

Good on you for even considering one

one of our company motors is a Fabia with the 3 cylinder diesel. The vibration and shaking of what is an intrinsically out of balance engine is bad enough in that - in an Elise it'd be torture!

The 320 or 330d BM engines would be insane if you could make them fit.

I still think Bike power is the way forward for an Elise....maybe with a turbo....
Same people doing the Audi conversion are now evaluating a 1.9 TDI conversion for the Elise, via 24hr race events. Was talking to them at Donnie ;-)

Do you know much is it Ali?
IF Motorsport are a Ligier JS49 dealer (£70K Euros) and I think the Radical will be more.
Can't see Radical pricing themselves out of the equation at €70k - This would buy a shiny SR8, or even a doggy LMP2 without an engine...

Nah...This is Radical jumping on the bandwagon in anticipation of the European v de v endurance championship running in the UK this year...Juno have a suitable Duratec engined car for £40k~, and Norma use the CTR K20a in their car for similar money...

(These cars also run sucessfully in Britsports...Another market the Radical will be aimed at...)

(edit cos Ali has a more accurate idea of pricing  )
