Put a post up people really want to see and things happen.
I added the Spazz topic in trackdays at 7.22pm tonight (3 hours ago) - now had 42 replies, 219 views, and incidentally 10 people have signed up and paid!
There's life in the old girl yet.
Personally for me, I dont have as much time with work etc - I just log in when i want to "escape".
I'm most interested in trackdays, but struggle to get the time to do as many as I'd like - its always the board i check with most interest.

Lotus Esprit S4S

Best to go on a run or a weekend away if your shy.
That is hard unless you're an out and out extrovert, whether it's a group of SE folk or anyone else.

At W@rk there seems to be a continual push to setup communities of practice etc on a global scale and generally they fall flat on their face. I often think of SE as a good example of how such a forum should function - common interest, a level of cyber plus personal familiarity, and the ability to raise and discuss issues of interest. Seems to me like it works well and is in good health, but like all things there will be phases of high and low energy.
I certainly got a great welcome when I first got involved, but then Tut did think I was female! I've always enjoyed the camping trips - a great way to get to know the pack.
Back to the w@rk comparison, most people take a few weeks in a new work place before they start to feel part of the family, so I'd expect SE to be similar. Some will be more outgoing and get there quicker others may take a bit longer, and in exceptional cases will come to the conclusion we are all from another planet and go elsewhere.
Humans..... every one is unique!

I am really quite shy, so ordinarily it would be much easier to post loads and dread meets etc, but for me it has been quite the opposite. Meeting SE folks for the first time isn't like meeting "new" people, everyone is beyond friendly, inclusive and welcoming.

I have memories of a couple of female Swedish nurses (IIRC) who were moving to Scotland and wanting to meet people - they got a very warm welcome! Gave us a good laugh too!

Yep, Iain did a great job at that, in fact came up with another character as well.
He is an example of one of the originals that did all the road runs and KH, changed cars a fair bit, but only posts occasionally nowadays.
As Andy pointed out with Spazz, fantastic response in a very short time, S_E still very healthy.

The uptake on ShpaZ (see what I did there?!) has been impressive. Building up to be an epic trip. Cant wait!

I have such a faint hope of "ShpaZ" it would be great but maybe a little unrealistic for me just now. Totally agree that SE is very healthy and lots of the usual suspect ups for trackdays is great. I just wondered if there was a lot of folk hiding in the woodwork that wood love to come along, hopefully this has made them feel that they are more than welcome both online and off, dont be shy.
Home tomorrow, cant bloody wait, anyone welcome to come round anytime from now until next monday (work) but bring a boiler suit.
Craig.
PS Welcome without a boiler suit but more than welcome to lend a hand, more than enough work to pick from, twin charged 1.8T/ installing 1.8T in s2 or even a 340 build in the corner...

All I would like to say at this point is to thank you all for building a genuinely friendly community, one which I am proud to be part of.
I've made some great friends on here and without SE I doubt I would still have the Elise, at the very least it wouldn't be running!
