The 8C proved alfas sell at high prices (low volume probably helped) but there are cheaper 4-cylinder 'baby premium' available for those wanting something different.

We must remember that fewer cylinders is the way forward (see M3/4, M5, RS6) so could be a master stroke
The volume is the key to those sales though; Fiat Group will have bigger expectations of numbers this time round.

Agree that EU emissions laws are only going one way, it's the only 4 cyl car that delivers that kind of performance - apart from the Elise S..

I remember reading somewhere that the next Boxster/Cayman might have a turbo 4 pot so it does seem like the market is moving that way. Still can't help feeling that the 4c would be a whole lot nicer with one of these in the back :)

I remember the front page of the Lotus website used to scroll through photos of some of the old cars and had a line about the car below it. On the original Esprit that line was '...the world's first 4 cylinder supercar...' Raise a wry smile at the time.

Love the Alfa though & pleased to hear the reviews are far better than I feared they would be. Headlights have grown on me, but it'd be nice to see it in a dark colour.

I think they're quite portly old lumps, but I do still have dirty thoughts of slotting one in the back of a Stratos replica one day...

Oh yeah, Stratos replica :love

Wasnt there someone on here years ago that had a liveried up Stratos replica. Sure I bumped into them at a Lanarkshire petrol station and they were occasional posters on here? ( or is that just my dreams turning into an alternative reality?? )

Now seen them in the flesh/metal/carbon....
Coupe is good to look at,apart from the front lights. Roadster, which I thought I would prefer has some really awkward styling around the back of the doors, roof join where the cooling scoop is - angles coming in all directions and join lines everywhere. I have never noticed it in the pics before but it really looks a mess :? Maybe the show car being white didn't help.
It isn't as special to look as at I expected, overall a bit disappointed TBH
The F Type Coupe though :love :love

Isn't the UK allocation for 2014 (200 cars) sold out?

Doubt many dealers will keep a demo, if they can sell for a premium... :)

No idea. But I have to stay away, for 2 reasons. Officially beyond my budget...and still find it hard to contemplate selling the well preserved S1 ;-)

I'd stay away period (not sure i fancy putting £50k of my funds there!), but would be interesting to drive one all the same.
