Kilchoman also has a cafe with great cakes for people who get the munchies after a nip or two

Was anyone at the Whisky Stramash at Surgeons' Hall last weekend?

Old pultney 21 is only £55 in duty free. (whisky of the world 2012) according to jim murray. Most of the supermarkets seem to be bumping up prices so they can offer "deals". :( Not really enjoying the Glenbridge 40 year old that I got from Aldi so I've punted my other bottle.

So jealous you are heading over to Islay. Read Raw Spirit the other week which gives a good insight into the industry. Bit too much moaning about the war but apart from its well worth a read! :thumbsup
Old pultney lovely stuff :cheers

Just spluged 350notes on The Macallan diamond jubilee. Let's hope it lives up to it's investment hype. Dont usually agree with not drinking the stuff but this one is definitely getting squirreled away.

Just bought a bottle of the Glenlivet "Guardians Edition" 18yr old at £150 - but it'll be getting drunk.

2 maybe strange questions..

Some friends of mine are getting married next summer and are looking for a quaich, and a couple of small jugs to pour whisky / water into it from. Anyone know where to get something a little more special than the norm?

Also, it's a fairly small wedding (22ish people) and they want to make up a small kinda goody bag for favours. Any good websites / places for 22 malt miniatures?

We got a quaich engraved for our wedding from the Trophy shop. Fairly standard looking, difficult to get something original looking but the personalised engraving makes up for this. eBay can be good for miniatures if buying nothing collectable, sometimes job lots. I'd also suggest visiting your local friendly distillery and giving them some good chat.

Not sure about ordering by the case, but you might want to consider personalised labels. A few distilleries offer these now and often at no extra cost.
Eg Friends of Laphroaig get a 10% discount on all purchases and can order personalised labels at no extra cost.
I got this done for the AMP3 trackday a few years ago:

Not sure where it ended up (my recollections of that night are, at best, vague).

Sadly polished off that bottle a long time ago, but plenty more to choose from.
I can highly recommend the Glenkinchie Cask Strength (only available from the distillery) or their Distiller's Edition. Both finished for at least 2 years in sherry casks.
