Sadly I would doubt it made any difference, the mentality of some people is that whatever is being investigated they would do anything in their power to impede the Police or authorities from doing their job. They believe that they must stick up for their peers/children/parents etc.as that's the honourable thing to do and dealing with any authority figure is a sign of weakness.

Rosebery Avenue, but we moved into town in '90.

And I'd been away to Dundae Uni to drag myself from the slums

This kind of sh#t telly somehow gives credence to their way of life, and with it some kind of celebrity.

This is a tiny minority, concregating in 'schemes' and becoming 'accepted' by the state, if they can be controlled. I don't agree with their chosen way of life but I try not to judge, often there are reason people slip into alcoholism and drug abuse, and again, I am thankful to have had none of these issue.

Hope my comments don't exacerbate your nausea, Ian.

That was the year I started at QF High. :thumbsup

Dundee uni? Away from the slums? :damnfunny

I've yet to watch the scheme, but judging by all of the comments I'm going to get extremely angry watching it!

No, no, it's D U N D A E, Dundae :thumbsup

Watch it for what it is TV sensationalism, true perhaps but an acceptable 'worse case' scenario. I suspect this is the tip of the iceberg but I've no experience of the real world, silver spoon and all

It's really a bunch of neds, some wanna be gangsta's, 'recovering' junkies and people that like a bru (not the Irn type). The wrong side of the tracks, hardcore junkie types and dealer mobsters wouldn't want to be involved with this pap.

Not that old! You would have been a few years below me. I left in 89 but I went back to help out with the school pantos in 1990 and 1991 as a favour to the music teacher (can't remember his name - Derek something).

I read in the Kilmarnock Standard that the boy Marvin had been to court and that te last 2 episodes were due for airing soon. Hopefully someone has just decided to dump the programme because it really was awful to watch.

I saw Marvin on another tv programme recently standing next to some horrible scheme bird rambling about how she had been "dain really well now" apparently he had veneers done courtesy of the Sun newspaper or something like that.

I think the programme was women who had been in prison or maybe something with a catchier name. Not sure why Marvin was on it? They'll probably give him a series and he'll be paid a fortune.

Looking forward to seeing the other episodes though for amusement.

Marvin "Junkie Scumbag" Bain did indeed get his teeth done courtesy of the sun. I have seen many of the "stars" around Kilmarnock because although this type of jakie b'stard is in the minority in Kilmarnock they do seem to bring the place down.

So we are being entertained one night by the Scheme, the next night by the Apprentice. Now what would be entertaining would to have a show called, "The Scheme does The Apprentice".

"Here is £250, go and make me some money".....

So would they go and do something mildly profitable with fruit and veg,.... or show some initiative and, er, deal some drugs for a profit?
