True :( I got knocked back from the GSOA for the design part of a Mech Eng with design degree, maybe I should have done design some point before then

Paul

In an effort to get this thread back on track.........

Audi R8 ticks all the boxes with a few sitting in dealerships as we speak.

Prices will soften with the advent of a bigger engine.......but not so much as you would notice!!!!!

Compared to other exotica this is as close to low depreciation supercar motoring as you are going to get!

On the otherhand.........has WankR sold his motor yet :ROFL

they look solid at the moment, and most are specced to nearly £100k. Think supply should keep prices pretty solid for as bit yet, no?

The 430 is superior in terms of technology and I have nothing against them but I just prefer the 360. I have been asked more than on a few occasions by Greypaul to swap over to the 430.....

Its not twitchy as people say. It really depends how you drive the car and the suspension set up but my car handles very nicely. The F1 box should not cause you problems if set up properly either. If you don't track the car, the real term road performance you get out of 360 and 430 is very similar. Have test drives in both to see what I mean.

DB9 is a nice car but I prefer the V8. I think Astons should improve the reliability though. As for different images associated with various cars, I don't get it. Buy what you like, not what people may think of the car.
Hi and welcome - just wondering if this is your car @ 1 minute 57 secs -

Hi, could have been me. Not too sure when it was filmed.

Listened to the exhaust note again. It does sound like the Capristo I have in my car...... and I track the 360 at KH a few times.

R8 surely does tick all the boxes but for three reasons, IMO.

Prices are still at a premium but will fall quickly to below list when the interest dies down, whenever the next best thing comes along, V10 or a.n.other car

It's an AUDI however you cut it, £50K or £80K a two seat AUDI

The design, though interesting in parts the whole for me does not stack up, the cabin is too far forward, the front end too low, square and compromised to accommodate the Audi grille, LED fairy lights and the side blade thing, included to break up the side, the back is much sweeter and the engine on show superb, but will it looks so good with mileage on it, Fezza's look good because most treat them as toys, but Schoomer wants a car to drive not polish

I can still never get away, as an everyday driver, from a Porsche but they are now too common. Interesting older Porsches are still usable!!!!

It is actually quite a conundrum thinking about it. I'd still bank on an R8 - prices are so high at the mo that you could buy one, keep it for 6 - 12 months and still sell it on no problem. They're uber rare (not seen one in Edin yet) so its far better than a cooking porker, or dare I say it even an M5.

997 turbo? I doubt I'd take the hit on the Gt3 just to then buy a 997t though

Used M5 is a bargain but 8mpg is nearly as bad as BigD
There was a time last year when they were depreciating @ £2k per month......they have settled down now .....to £1400 per month

That is all.
Here's me sticking my oar in (again), but I saw one of those, in black, coming down Queen street a couple of months ago and thought it was an exige at first! I think they're quite anonymous unless you get a wild colour and a tubi-style exhaust.

totally, its all subjective.

But by all accounts it can be used every day with no problems, is still quick and if you want you can blend into the crowd (tho im thinking fitting an aftermarket exhaust would soon stop that)

We got passed by one in France which was pretty much identical to that, the sound it made was simply awesome :)
