Porker lovers
Re: Porker lovers
I did a similar thing when I bought my first Elise. Went into enquire about a wiper blade.

Re: Porker lovers
Well, that's the 911 gone, sold it yesterday to a guy down South. Luckily I know that it has gone to a good home and will be lavished with the attention it deserves.
Just means that the Spyder will have to be used a bit more. Now on the search for dog friendly transport.

Re: Porker lovers
I was behind a new 911 Turbo on Thursday last week going through Aberdeen.
Anyone else seen one? It's absolutely huge, wider than a transit van and not very pretty at the rear IMO. Dunno what the front was like, never saw it and I guess the rear would be the view most people get to see so they should've made it look better.

Re: Porker lovers
To be honest we did think of going back to an Evora, however the thought of putting 10k+ miles each year was the issue.
I know the car could easily handle it but the depreciation would concern me when it came to sell. I know people have put big miles on the car but different when its not a company vehicle.
Thought are to stay sensible so could be 335D MSport Tourer so we have something that at least has some oomph but won't cost a fortune to run day to day. Did think C63 Estate but had enough of large petrol bills when we ran an Evo (385bhp) as a daily for 4 years.

Don't rule out an A4/A6 3.0TDI Quattro Sline - just had ours up to Aviemore and back, fully loaded on way up and absolutely effortless, pulls like a train - sensible money too!

Re: Porker lovers
Did think of Audi but you get 250bhp where the 335D has over 300. Can't see me wanting more than that (or if I do then AC Schnitzler do a 360bhp upgrade).

Don't Audi do the BiTdi in the A4 these days? 316 ponies IIRC.douglasgdmw wrote:Did think of Audi but you get 250bhp where the 335D has over 300. Can't see me wanting more than that (or if I do then AC Schnitzler do a 360bhp upgrade).

However Sandra is now keen for the M-Sport 335D X-Drive in Alpine white (de-badged of course so most people think its a 320D)

Re: Porker lovers
Did think of Cayenne and Macan. Test drove a Cayenne and was amazed about how well it hides its weight. However it is still a weighty car and you will always have that bulk about it.Scotty C wrote:Cayenne?GregR wrote:Dog car chat in the Porsche thread? Move along please
Macan may have been better suited out of the 2 but with options I could have got a really nice 2nd hand 911 (which would mean getting another car for the dog).

Re: Porker lovers
Mate of mine is looking for a 911, his budget means he is looking at something around a 2002.
The car is a mid life crisis toy

Re: Porker lovers
Easier knowing budget first, but I suspect a 996 would be in that ball park and plenty to choose from.
Obviously their is the IMS bearing to worry about but Hartech have a fix (although at a cost) to resolve that worry.
Lots out their so be picky and buy from the more reputable Porsche specialist dealers as you know you will be getting a good car.
