That's the plan....

I'm hoping that the pink does not extend to the front seats, but I suspect it will. First thing I'm going to try is dye see if I can dye them black, flaining that it's strip and recover (Time consuming and requires skills I don't posess) or bin them and replace.

It's not as it you can use the back seats anyway! That said half a tired but servicable back seat is on the 924 OC for £5....

Now lets be honest here.

If you saw a Porsche parked outside a call centre you would expect a baby pink interior.

You just need to get in touch with you feminine side.

Paid a deposit on this beastie!

Image

I'll be picking it up tomorrow I was just too late to sort insurance to drive away today!

The rust is minor, as described, drivers side rigt at the leading edge. There are a couple of other bubbles but nothing much.

Inside is RED! not pink! Idle is a little unsteady but ok, oil pressure gauge is duff, drivers seat needs stitching, dash is cracked, driver side headlamp surround is missing, headlamp washer jet is missing, gearbox is smooth and light but a bit noisy on overrun, heater doesn't work on full only on mid but gets hot. Temp sits just below half. Oh and the pax window is busted (Wiring) and the read wiper doesn't work

the only major problem is on full right lock the tyre catches the bodywork. I assume there is a stop that needs tweaking.

Rich,

There was an episode of Wheeler Dealers in which they converted a 924.

Put "Wheeler Dealers 924" in You Tube and you will see the episodes.

Best of luck with the car.

Rich,

No problems.

Wheeler Dealers has taught a mechanically inept imbecile like me a thing or 2 about servicing a car. I now know to put the oil in the oil filter and put some oil around the o-ring. Whether I can find an oil filter in the engine bay or take it off is another matter

The bumper dosn't quite fit as you can see in the photo... and it's the rusty wing on that side too....

Inner wing is straight and it tracks ok. So probably yes. At least 2' out!

Right first impressions:

Quite tidy, pretty straight, in need of a few things fixing. Runs ok but lumpy idle and occasional missfire at high revs. Back end is a little "floaty" and the box is pretty noisy when cold.

Otherwise came back from Stockport (50 miles or so) at around 90tuts without any problems at all. Sort of wafted past all the traffic in an unflustered and majestic sort of way. Quiet and compfortable and smells of old (dry) sheep....

Big grins all round!
