Well the engine and the chassis are VX so you'll need to find the "summat else" :P
Although I guess the chassis evolved from the Elise so really it's the lovechild of an Elise and a VX ;)

No need. It's still an Elise at heart ;-)
Actually it's a VX at heart ;)
I hear what your saying Mr Metro driver :P but after buying an Elise in 1996 I needed a change, this one is quieter, faster, comfier, and nearly the same colour.

I really hated the S2 when it came out, but as that's the shape they make I had no choice. This car is different and yet the same simultaneously, the big test will be to see if my sister notices it's not the S1 :)

Think you've taken that the wrong way :?
All I meant is it is based on the VX220, same chassis and engine and plenty other bits and in that respect and the reasoning behind it's existence is much closer to the VX than the Elise.

I'm only teasing

Having looked underneath they are all very much the same, it's just the plastic and glass that's different. We now have 4 plastics and 3 engines available.
I have no rear undertray BTW

What's where the undertray should be? Or did they just forget to fit it?

Impressed. That's good gearing in any car (I guess the grunt of the turbo engine allows for the GT top gear) :thumbsup

Saw it a couple of weeks ago when getting warrenty issues bumped. First one I've seen. Really nice choice of colour and according to Foz (Snr) you never see any in Norfolk. Awesome car :thumbsup

Everything Lotus have done since 1996 owes its roots to the S1 Elise development. QED.

Now, let's stop worrying about the bl**dy DNA and concentrate on Lawrence's Road Test reports ;-)

Lawrence...your challenge is to mount the video cam in the pax corner of the windscreen and film yourself doing a Top Gear stylee road test review...you get to choose which of the May, Hammond or Jezza characters you would like to play...or you can just be yourself of course!

A 3 minute "short" posted up on Youtube is acceptable...

Up for it?!
