Maybe on a 12month contract these bad boys will be about £150 and perhaps free in the not too distant future?

I had a play a couple of months ago it is very cool but not worth the cash and 18 month contract currently in the US - bound to be more expensive here than in the US :(

Spent a couple of hours with my good friends at the Apple Store in Lenox Mall, Atlanta this week. Also spent a good while trying the iPhone out.

As many have said, a very cool piece of kit but very overpriced. The 8Gb model is $599 and the 4Gb is $499. Thats a very small iPod and a very expensive PDA in my world.

It's currently only available on AT&T contract, but plans for the end of the year are to bring it out on Cingular (Vodafone compatible in the US).

The biggest rub is that there are no plans as yet to bring it into the UK by the end of the year. They are working on building the contract deals with Vodafone at present and will hope to have this in place by summer next year.

By that time expect it to be $ for pound so 600 quid for an 8Gb phone...

Think i'll stick with my iPAQ for now!

The Cisco/Apple law suit ws settled amicably BTW and the name sticks because Apple showed rights to the "i" prefix...

Cheers,
Iain
