We had the same problem when buying the OZ's as they come in either black or silver (from the factory) - after much deliberation we went for the silver one which I think is the right choice for the colour of our car.

Of course you could always go for black with a yellow rim

wheel colour IMO is very car colour dependant but so is the pattern of the rim, some good some bad, I think the narrower spoked rims look good because you can see through the spoke to discs and caliper which provide a background against which you see the pattern of the spoke, a thick spoked rim can often look like a black steel particularly when dirty, actually I'm not sure that I care as much as this would indicate, but once you get me started!!!!!!!!

personally black OZ rims on light coloured cars look great but then again I would say that
if evolution don't take care of it, redesign it

Agree Malcolm. Dark wheels on the light coloured 135R look the mutts, and I like mac's silver 48s on the cobolt car :thumbsup

i'll do a bit of research... hopefully some of these places will have samples.

i'll just get the wheels conditioned in the same (or close to) the original colour if i can't make my mind up.

Im really looking for this kind of effect... (Robin's fav)

This debate seams to be split with no conclusion so far :? . So, my sugestion, take both ideas, silver & black. The S1 111s alloys are six spoke, (which is what you are talking about?) so why not paint each alternate spoke black, so you'll have 3 black spokes & three silver. I have some black hamerite that I used on my garden gate a few years ago, which would be ideal

Even better, Dave's idea of white wheels.... you could do 2 black spokes, 2 white, and 2 silver. I have some white emulsion paint you could have too.      ...... or mayby not... :leave

Dodgy Dave the B. told me about them.
Glad you had good experience with them. I found them fcuk useless when I asked them to match an S2 wheel I had bought to the set of black ones I had on my S2. The originals where powder ocoated and that is what I asked for. The finnished wheel was crap and looked painted. They had missed bits as well. Couldn't believe the shoddy workmanship and even the apprentice guy said it didn't seem very good when I picked it up. Got hold of the Boss a few days later and showed him my originals and the one they had done. He was not much help and when I mentioned the apprentice had said it was not very good he summoned the guy out and sacked him infront of me. Eventually pursauded him to redo the wheel but the result wasn't much better and when I started to complain he got his Alsation out and told me to leave the premises. I still have the photos of the "Work" they did.

I think those particular wheels look better in silver against the red S1, but the Exige wheels on Andy's red 111R look great in black against the car. Weird that the number of spokes affects the look of the colours so much.

My S1 is Calypso Red with Gold Technomag. wheels, they came in this colour purchased by the previous owner and I have thought many times about changing the colour to silver, white !, anthracite and black but never got my finger out to actually go out and get them done.

I'm unsure wither I would loose the in your face factor if I change them from gold, gold wheels on the red is a unique choice.

Me like black ones :D perhaps because my little silver ones is needin refurb. It could be because i used to spend HRS  cleaning alloys on my other cars just to see then dirty driving 4 mins to garage for petrol :rage

but i do kinda have a soft spot for the little silver S1s wot i got.

When I had my S1 (silver like yours Mrpunch) I had the wheels refurbed black, and it looked awesome. Black has the benefit of hiding dust and dirt also.
