Emotive stuff, I'll give you that. Lot of bluster elsewhere about Lewis not being "sporting". The only thing he did wrong is not doing the backing up earlier. More fool him, so no champ honours. Tough luck Mista Bling.

Didn't rate Lauda's interview.

Thought Lewis interviewed ok.

Nico came across better than I expected. I think he really had to work for his result on Sunday and on that basis, a deserved champ crown. That's it.

Drunk JB was golden. Nice touch from DC and Webber.

Now to the 2017 circus with 1980s style cars running 2017 engines. We can only wonder...

It actually did not bother me who came out on top, they both annoy me at times, would sooner have seen it go to Kimi, Ricciardo, or Verstappen, but they are going to need better cars next year for that to happen. At least the apple cart will be shaken up with the new regs, just hope that Mercedes lose their dominance. We need six cars fighting for the lead again which would bring all the lost spectators back.

The 'racing' has been very poor this season and only Mad Max has made it interesting. Reliability cost LH the championship but it was forever thus, NR has been blindingly fast on occasion and arguments about whether he deserves the title or not are academic, the results are the results.

Well put Malcom,

I agree that there is a way to be a good loser, but that is somewhat of an oxymoron when discussing racing drivers. At the start of the year NR was lightening, Hamilton himself said he couldn't get near him when he was in that sort of form. That was the foundation on which his WDC was built (similar to Button in 09). It's easy to forget the early races when the season has been as long as it has been.

At all times I have felt that NR has known what was required to seal it, he knew what he had to do and he did exactly that, calculating yes, but lets not forget he put a pretty ballsy move on Max to get back into 2nd position. I'm glad he got the title, I imagine it will be his first and last but to see anyone realise their dream and have it mean so much to him (as it so obviously does) it a pretty great spectacle.

Lastly, personal opinion, I feel NR will be a 'better' WDC than Hamilton, in terms of being an Ambassador for the sport. I think he may well give more back to the sport the LH has.

Seriously, what were they going to say to the 3 times WC who is arguably the best driver on the grid and could quite easily walk into just about every other team with a phone call?

Watching the race I thought the team were out of order for persisting in telling him to speed up. There was nothing in the race from a team POV so let the drivers get on with it.

Perhaps the most pathetic thing i read this season was Toto saying they were on their "Last warning" over shoving each other off - what was the punishment going to be?
