There's an update for IRIS which gets rid of some of the usability niggles, but it's not the same as IRIS 2 as that has hardware differences. Maybe that?

Congrats Kerry. It's a stunning machine in the flesh. Need to pop round for a proper drool up close!
My car has had an IRIS 2 upgrade which is a replacement unit £4k as an upgrade to owners. You can tell the difference between Iris 1 and 2, by the 2 additional buttons. Iris 1 units did get a software upgrade but apparently they still crash.

Tut you may be referring to the engine, gearbox, aero and suspension upgrades. When they brought out the 650, with its updated software they provided the same update to existing 12C owners. So it has been fully updated to 650 spec of software. There are some spec differences, but I'm not interested in the 650 so not sure what they are.

Graeme, feel free to pop round or email me your address and I'll stop by sometime.

 That's stunning I much prefer the 12C front to the bulbous 650 front which to my eye doesn't marry in with the rest of the car very well, looks like a cracker, enjoy.... Oh and see all those jealous folk, take all their jealousy, roll it up and burden it on one man and you have me lol

Cracking choice, much respect! :thumbsup

Can't wait for my midlife crisis, looks brilliant. Hope I get a Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Aventador. It just turns up on your doorstep like a baby delivered by a stork, right?

You had better bring the McLaren to campaganza, promise not to spunk on it.

Ha I'll leave the track wrap on. No problem taking it on a Campaganza.

Just got home from london, straight up to Ricky's for the exige and parked it next to the 12C for the first time. 12C looks big, exige looks wee.

I like the back end more than the front, but the 12c is functional design with a few hints back at the F1. The 650 was clearly an attempt to get a bit more of a "mclaren" design code. It's possible to change a 12C into a 650 with a nose job, but I like it the way it is. The owners are pretty obsessed with carbon, you can blow 20k on carbon bits and it doesn't save weight. This one has the carbon interior and mirrors, the rest is plastic - perfect for scottish roads IMHO.

It is a thing of great beauty, perhaps perfect.

That is lovely.
I admit to never having been a fan of the 12C once the 650 came out (I seem to be alone in thinking the 650 front end is a tough nicer?)..... but this particular example is stunning - and as an overall package fits much nicer together than the 650/MC12 mash-up.
Enjoy it - you are very lucky :)

616 and its about 1400kg, exige still feels quicker.......

There are remaps etc which easily get it over 700, but what's the point. I don't really know if it changes maps with mode etc, but it is just as easy to drive at 30 as at full gas.
