a sure fire way to sink the SNP... the Lib Dems had such an impact as part of the coalition so far. The most interesting outcome would be who would go into coalition with the tories... UKIP?

the usual players are all flawed and wooden,
I am really not a tory boy at all but given Camerons 5 years in power he didn't display much heavyweight credentials in front of camera, almost trying not to upset anyone and maintain power by anonymity.
Millipede is not my camp either but he has improved, felt more believable but he just reminds me to much of Tim nice but dim.
Lib dems, I used to hold a lot of promise for them five years ago but i think the party killed itself before the last GE anyway, and they have utterly disappeared poilitically. Real visible hatrid for the Cameron.
UKIP, all i see is Nick Griffin in a different suit, the undertones of what he represents trouble me greatly, its easy sh*t to swallow.. plus he looks like a salamander.
Greens, single biggest issue there is there is no UK green party. its Scotland Greens, England and Wales Greens and Irish Greens. However, she speaks well and hit a few points, dealt with her interview f**k up the other month rather well and that has given her some kudos from the press. So no doubt they will get some good airtime in the next few weeks.
Welsh lassie, seemed nice enough but this was clearly a step up for her.
Nicola Sturgeon, never thought much of her until the last year, she has raised her game. Slightly weird looking Ann Robinson thing going on, but she looked comfortable and delivered.

Another point, Cameron held out for the greens to be involve who have ONE MP, where as the DUP/Sien Fien have 13?

Although Clegg tried to show he had teeth, they are pretty doomed as they are just not seen as a viable alternative anymore. Milipede did do better than expected but just to dorky to be a PM. Cameron much as it pains me will probably get back in in some guise but is no better than anyone else, everyone will be squabbling over the scraps and he will sneak over the line again. The other 4 will take the odd scalp here and there but the shift change is i think we will see two party politics again in the UK. Who is the best of the rest will demonstrate how changed the UK has become. Whats the coalition going to look like this time?

The priorities and needs of our electorate are quite diverse; 2 party politics has never really captured that diversity in modern times - it dates back to a time where one party represented the land owners and the other party represented the workers.

So I think it is a good democratic outcome if parliament has to consider each issue, rather than most policy being based on the dogma of one party.

The big question is whether the politicians will take this new role seriously or whether it'll be the usual gravy train/pub brawl ....

Of course it could end up in a giant stalemate with nobody able to make progress on any issue in which case the next parliament will achieve nothing ... but that's still better than 50% of all possible outcomes

I fully suspect the later Robin, I agree there is historical precedence but I do believe that the UK (and the world) as fundamentally changed (and is changing/growing alarmingly) but the politics haven't. At what point will it be taken seriously, It is like waiting for an accident to happen...

The previously waved minor issues are now very real, ignore at their peril... UKIP is a demonstration of that imho.

24% <citation needed> of people in Scotland vote Tory but get no representation at Westminster.
if Labour (say) win 326 seats the other MPs might as well take the next 4 years off. If the tories win again (my bet) then the ast majority of people in Scotland can kiss goodbye to any say in national govt.
