I am now using the Nationwide current account cover, for £10 per month you get full European cover breakdown cover, worldwide travel family insurance, mobile phone cover and extended purchase warranties. If you make it a joint account your better half is also covered in any car.

Just taking breakdown and travel insurance parts this was cheaper than buying these separately.

My RAC cost have just gone through the roof on renewal, AA are about the same but includes parts and Labour so it's a no brainer I'll be jumping ship back to the AA this year :thumbsup Renewal is a month today so unless RAC slice their price in half I'll be leaving then..

I would take a look at the Nationwide cover -

http://www.nationwide.co.uk/~/media/Mai ... policy.pdf

To match it on the AA or RAC is north of £200 and you are getting it plus all the extra insurances for £120 year (£10 per month). If you really want I think I can recommend you and you'll get £100 when you sign up.

I do not work for Nationwide, but for me it was a no brainer :D

Do I need to move my account to them? or are they doing stand alone breakdown cover? I can get £120 cash back from quidco on AA as it's £257 all in inc parts and labour warranty on the Elise and both myself and Johanna on policy making it only £137 for the year but needs paying in a single transaction :thumbsup

Yes you would need to open a joint account but that is all (no need to move) then you would both be covered in any car, at home, UK and Europe. You also get family worldwide travel insurance, phone insurance and extended warranty cover all for £10 a month.

Bonus of not having to renew every year too.

Does anyone other than the AA do BRC? I have stuck with them because of it.
I have full family cover for 4 with recovery relay and home start and BRC on 4 vehicles. I think I'm £350pa for that lot.

If you're going for a couple of longer trips it tends to work out better with an annual although not necessarily as part of your UK package. In the past it's worked out cheaper for me to get the Euro cover from one, and UK cover from the other. How long it takes will vary depending on the merchant. Sometimes it'll be really quick, other times it takes months. Once you've made a purchase through it you'll be able to see it under My Account>Earnings. If you expand the info next to the transaction it'll give you an estimate of the time it'll take.
Payout wise you can either get cash transferred into your bank account or transfer it into voucher for various places. I take all of mine as BA Avios which has helped me avoid longhaul economy flights in recent years.
