Had a wee drive past the karting this evening when out & about doing daughter taxi duties - not much to report really - other than the large sign on the entrance canopy, it just looks like any industrial unit. Decent-sized car park at the front though

No doubt all the financial and time focus will be on inside, just with a quick tidy up outside nearer opening

Hi folks,
Just a quick update to answer most of your questions.
Details of location, prices can now be found on the website -www.dundeekarting.co.uk . The phone number is on the website
but at the moment we have not started reception staff , but should have someone available to answer enquiries from Friday
27th July.

When are you open? At the moment we are planning on opening on Monday and hope to take bookings from this Friday but this all depends on us getting the go ahead from building control who are doing a site visit on Thursday.

Are there any jobs? No...I have all staff I need who will be starting on Thursday and if anyone is needed in future then I will post an ad on this facebook page.

Opening hours? 10am until 10pm 7 days a week.

Age/height limit? From opening the minimum age and height will be 12 yrs old and 5 foot tall for the adult karts.We hope the junior cadet karts will arrive in around three months which will accommodate the 8-11yr old age group.

Where is the karting centre? The centre is in the west end at block 10 Myrekirk Road, Wester Gourdie Ind Est, next to the NCR building - just off the Kingsway

They are claiming it'll be the longest indoor track in Scotland. Just hope they've left some space for overtaking!

Right folks...time for the truth. We are ready,track,karts,staff all ready to go. We are trying to open the best leisure facility in Dundee however there are people standing in our way and its time to let you know exactly who they are.
Gordon Caird the building control officer is telling us that we need a 42 smoke sensor detection system installed on our track. There is not a track in the United Kingdom that has a smoke detection system although we have to install one and were told about it yesterday. Our plans were submitted more than six months ago but the building control decided to wait until the day before we open to tell us about this. As it stands we cannot afford this and the facility will not open.
Maybe its time for people power as these guys running the city need to be told....
