Thinny has internal cross-wires anyway, he doesn't require any additional external input...

Also posted on Jock7s :

JIm,

I can easily pop over to Murrays this week ( possibly tomorrow ) and take a look.
- let me know if you want me to and if there are any specifics you'ld like me to check.

I find the tillets too narrow but fit perfectly in the leather s-type seats so that would be a possible option for you.
You are welcome to try mine for size.

Kevin.

I am the middle ground - i have a road car which i track occasionally !! (i think i'm the exception from the norm)

Regarding gearing - don't the 5 and 6 speeds (generally) have different diffs ?

3.92 for 5-speed and 3.62 for 6 speed (for the road cars anyway) so revs in 6th (6 speed)and 5th (overdrive in 5-speed) tend to be the same ? (Non-technical faction) - speedo STILL not bloody working.

Also aren't there two types of Tillets? - i'm quite broad shouldered - i can't fit in the black? Tillets in Charlie's Roadsport, but do fit in the Grey? tillets that were in Dave Logan's last mean machine.

Oh yeah - and the price seems very high to me especially for this time of year.

There are a few different types of Tillet but the "std" Caterham S3 Tillet is either Black Fibreglass, or Yellow Carbon Kevlar Weave.

The Kevlar ones are much much lighter, but "give" a lot more and seem a slightly different shape hence being able to fit/ not fit.

Very expensive too iirc £350 per seat fibreglass and £750 per seat kevlar.

Just a quick word of thanks to everyone on here and Jocks 7 who have been more than helpful, particularly Kevin who went to see the car at MMC and gave me some really good advice. All very much appreciated. :cheers

Not at the moment.

Have contacted the 7 Workshop for some info on what they have done to the MMC car and he is going to get back to me tomorrow.

Been offered a really good deal on this R300 (http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1913188.htm) but it has had a hard life  although has been well looked after

Been offered a a straight swap with this Atom 3 300 (http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1798841.htm) which is appealing in a sort of "that would be fun" type of way  . But.. even I realise it would be a bit wasted on me and spend most of its life in the garage.

To cap it all, I took the Porsche to work today casue it was raining and cold... and it was quite comfy really. Boring, but comfy. :|
