330d is by far the best diesel I have ever driven, if i had not found the Audi at the knock down price i got it for then a 330d was on the cards!

Wicked engine, and solid as a rock, will be my next car if i am still battling with a DERV!

Dave

How about this then.....putting "needing space" to the side, my car is into to MMC to get things fixed next week. If it's not (rattles etc) I am thinking about jumping off the Lotus ship to something new.

G,

I like the old R32 however, wont they drop value wise quickly now the new one is out?

If I were to be a family man, I`d be looking at an S4 avant. in Nogaro Blue, at about the 12k mark. Lot of car for the $. This one was a 55k miler up at 11.5k.

I love the mark 4 R32.
Thats definently the best colour. Took one for a test drive, was a little disappointed TBH but i was only given a short run along calder road.
Im sure id would have liked it more through the twisties. They are quite heavy with that 3.2 litre lump and the quad system. What about the new GTi?

The Mk 4 R32 is a tub of sh*t. Heavy, slow, synthetic, thirsty. I worked on them when they 1st came out and they're a total disapointment. Make a decent noise for a std car, and pulls well low down, but then it all comes to nothing. And you'd need to scandinavian flick the barsteward from abz to dundee to get it sideways coz all it wants to do is understeer. Its front wheel drive till they loose grip then the rear come in to play.

Plus, theres a black one does HM days and it couldnt out drag my piddly wee S1 up the straight.

If you want something a bit bigger and with abit of driver appeal get an Alfa. Beautiful design. The 147 GTV is a great car and does well for having all that power and being FWD. Revised Selespeed works well.

Shug's other half has an S3, and its quite handy. Could be another option.

There's some good M5's for that sort of coin also

Indeed, she does tend to liberate most of it ponies!

Wasn't sure if that was the way she normally drove, or if it was just our chat that was giving her the desire to shift it :D

I had a Mk 4 GTI turbo before the Elise. Well built, but boring and not that fast. And for some reason ( i had i while i was single) the ladies seemed to like a black golf gti as it looked like you had your head screwed on :? apparently.

My mate had a Z3M roadster. Really quick car. Well felt reaaly quick but put it up against another mates Griffith 500 and it passed us. All in a straight line i might add.
