There are a fleet of VW Passat Coupe's across the road from my work at the emergency services maintenance depot (they maintain fire engines, ambulances and stuff) currently being kitted out with the blue lights behind the radiator grill etc.
Not sure where they will be destined for but keep your wits about you if you encounter one of these in the not too distant future. A range of fairly nondescript colours - black, beige grey etc. They all have rear privacy glass (not sure if that's standard kit or not)
Fortunately - Passat Coupe's are unsurprisingly not one of the most common on our roads - they probably got a job lot cheap! - so should be an easy model to look out for.
Cheers

Ah?? couldent remember the type of VW you mention as I was trying to remember it after telling someone I had seen something like it the other day ....a grey/silver VW but I saw one the other day around haddington exactly as you describe it with very slim lights fitted to the roof, had to look closely to see what it was .
As I drive (sorry been driven )by Haddington police station most days,I seem to have plenty of time in the passenger seat ,sitting at the lights to have a look in the compound to see what's kicking about.....
