...............what time do you want me over on sat, for qualifying with the popcorn and icecream? and lets find out

Well, there is a small matter of SIDC to go to on Sat morning, (I also have a dinner arranged for Fri evening) so I won't be getting up early to see the qually - will prob watch it on the +box when I get home from SIDC.
I will likely watch it on Sunday morning - undecided as yet if I'll watch it live or maybe an hour or so later - will let you know

Tsk, Martin. Tsk. I thought you'd be above trotting out the same tedious line as all the interested media does each and every pre-season! I almost believed you were impartial till those words...

I am impartial ! ish.

However you cannot move in any of our offices for F1 paraphernalia, F1 engine noises blasting out of speakers, articles on the intranet etc etc etc. As such I'm much more aware of the seaon start than usual and my anticipation is higher.
I reserve the right to be dissapointed if the latest newey machine buggers off into the distance though

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Purely for clarification - is the F1 channel available for all HD customers?

Sky HD customers, yes. Cable, no, you need sports package to get it on Cable.

Cheers - what I thought
My current scenario - staying in a staff house (in a dreary far away place) with a new Sky HD box - went to try and watch some practice sessions this morning and it wouldn't allow me - so should I be calling the number on the screen to activate? (I know the landlord's details and password)

Every day's a school day etc
Just called Sky - transpires that having an HD+ box doesn't automatically mean you get all the HD channels - you have to upgrade to the HD package for that - so no live GP for me this weekend

What's the point in getting an HD box and not the HD subs?!!

: if it has the sports package you'll be able to watch it in normal viewing, I think it's channel 459...

HD boxes are the default boxes now.
Means an easier upsell to HD at a later date and means anytime plus and some other funky stuff is available later on.

Exactly my thoughts Jen but Martin has clarified - thanks
The house landlord was apparently banging on to one of my colleagues about how he's had HD installed, with now turns out to be utter balls
Bit of a sham considering how much he rakes in from my employer every month
