OTR costs are another £950gorrie wrote:I received an email from B&C at lunch time stating £49,900 (not including delivery) ??
Then there is the link to the above pricelist stating £54,900 (inc VAT, but not on road costs).
So... what's the 'on the road cost'... and if it's over £55K then how come it's £5K for 'delivery' (going by B&C)?

Re: New V6 Exige pics
I have mentioned in the past that they are £5k to expensive.
£50k sounds like a bargain starting price.
What else can you get new that that ticks the same boxes

2. Robin (but only for SC elise, V6 exige out of my price range, but will still come for a night out with the turnips).
3. Scotty
4. Andy G (work permitting)
5. Neil
6. Keith
7. Me too Saj
8. Campbell (depends on timing and also only if SC Elise involved...V6 Exige would need sale of both kids and even then they'd not fetch enough )
9. Ali (spent this years budget already but consoled that 2-11 trade in might be a wee bit more than Scottys)
10. mark_h - been 'humming and hawing' about having a V6 in my life!
11. Gary - don't like the look of the V6 but I'm up for a Norfrolic.
12. Frank - anytime except December
13. Kelvin - on jury duty from the 7/11 but will throw a sickie if it's a long drawn out case as apparently very few cases last longer than 200 days (it says here in the notes) FFS
14. Malcolm (f**k the extension)
15. Mr Momo - to get on the new track with the SC Elise and do a recce for the Elan 50th Anniversary next year

There's now a configurator on the Lotus website. Poison Green anyone?

No Orange
Guess it would have to be Solar Yellow then.

For orange you need either the premium or motorsport paint option. Guessing that the motorsport option lets you paint it any colour you want.
For me I think Lotus missed an opportunity to produce something really special. Instead what we got was something cobbled together from their existing parts bin. It's more evolution than revolution. Same as they did with the 1.6l elise. In hindsight it's the easiest route to take and shouldn't have come as a surprise as most of their available funds will be going on development of the new V8 engine and the forthcoming new models.
I'm sure it will be an excellent car but it's not what I was expecting and if anything is less eye catching than the old Exige.

Re: New V6 Exige pics
Confirmed the Exige V6 is £49,900; which to me, given the performance and rarity, and the way the thing will of course go round a corner - is serious value. And yes I was in the pricing meetings....! Wait until you see and hear it close up, the road presence is just incredible.
Yes the option list can lift it, but £55k gets an excellent spec. Otr costs are as they have been for 5 years plus - which, given the hikes in road tax, means the dealers have been swallowing the increases to help. Otr includes delivery to the dealer, road tax, first reg fee, fuel, plates, PDI etc etc....
and in response to your test drive (ever growing) list - my boss is not averse to it, once we have things set up and cars to use..so watch this space. Campbell, you're spot on - springtime is likely, the beer gardens will have come to life, birds tweeting, and Holiday Inn rooms available. Of course a number of you will have taken delivery of your V6 by then, so you can bring them down

It's nice to see the factory can still hear the regular punters! Something really fun to look forward to, taking the place of the "season opener" which used to be Donnie. Neat. Roll on 2012!
