Carbon Footprint?
whoops, good reminder. Must remember not to turn on more than 30 of the electric fires around the house this Winter.
Just done my bit however, the new Motability car has arrived, Ford Focus Ghia - 2.0 TDCi 135 PS, 50mpg. Looks nice and shiney parked next to the other five cars in the family, three of them 2 seaters and over 200hp.
I of course have a permanent carbon footprint, or so Verian tells me when she sees the bed sheets.
However this thread has got me thinking, did some Googling, and I am now going to get the Focus re-mapped to 170hp, BUT, more importantly, I will get an extra 3mpg.
Now off for a run in a completely non green Elise, just for the fun of it.

I chose a K-series powered lightweight car over a TVR... and got rid of my V6 MG for a little Fiesta... and only do 16K miles between them per year. What more do the turnip brigate want? Surely they don't really expect me to RIDE that bycycle in the garage??
They need to get on at the fuel suppliers to make Bio fuels readily available.... (and then we can get better performance too)
In fact, maybe if they just shut up for a while that might reduce the amount of hot air.

I have no signature.
Hmmm.
On the one hand... I seem to have a grand total of 16.1 litres, 1322 BHP, 34 cylinders and 134 valves. On the other hand I have no cows farting methane gas into the atmosphere so I guess that makes me sort of carbon neutral

Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Wanted: Train.
It's all bullsh*t, the lot of it. The methane from said bullsh*t is many times greater than the rest of mankind's contribution put together...
Now only if americans would stop piling the big macs away, we would need less cows, which would in turn mean less bullsh*t and less methane...
/edit:
I had a bacon double cheesburger from BK yesterday, and have driven about 700 miles in the last week. Don't give a sh*t faction here.

Me confused.....
Next time just say you now your feet are size nines, so you don't need to put carbon on the bottom of them to measure them on a piece of paper.....

That reminds me of my neighbour. Kind of a silly green man aswell, has his house covered in solar panels etc.
He once made a remark about the Elise. Something like "Is that really necessary?"
Next day, he was doing something with these solar panels of his and I drove up in the Esprit. The Esprit is pretty loud and a bit catless, so it really bangs when it's hot.
So I drove up and made it bang kinda loud.
Parked the car and turned round to him and asked him if he was installing an extra panel to compensate for my Esprit...
Since then, he's not even talking to me anymore...

Re: Carbon Footprint?
Because there's more pollution generated making a car than it will ever produce in it's lifetime.BiggestNizzy wrote:and as you can only drive 1 at a time what difference does it make ?ngaff1 wrote:Neighbour popped over this afternoon and asked if I had considered the size of my carbon footprint. So in theory we'd be greener driving old 60's cars, no cat, leaded petrol etc. Strange but true, and not helpful to the economy so ignored.
