Good to hear you now know what is wrong, and that there is a treatment.

As previously mentioned, be strong for your sister & Mum. You have us lot to support you

Sorry to hear that both of you. Hope it comes good. As woody said it's harder to handle when it's someone young in the family. :(

Having a similarly rough week with my old man in intensive care, and me going in for a suspicious lump op, so know the feeling.... :?

Gary,

Not the best of circumstances to start married life under. At least now they know what it is they are treating, and things can only get better from here.

Hospital visiting takes it toll (I know), you're no sooner in from work then, your back out again. Rember to take care of yourself too. Hopefully with the support of your new wife it will be a bit easier.

Regards to you both, and best wishes to Sis

Good luck and best wishes to all.
I spent last month with my mum in Texas as she passed away from cancer. Nothing really prepares you for what you go through but sometimes just 'being there' for someone is the best thing you could ever do.

I really hope she gets better soon mate :thumbsup

Alan,

That's dreadful news, once again so sorry.

Pete

PS Gary (I'm sorry if this is unnecessary but advice never hurts) but speaking from personal experience junk food brought in by mates was the absolute highlight of my extended hospital stay in my late teens. That and books/magazines although these days I would vote for audiobooks on an ipod if she is in for any length of time. A decent pair of Shures and the hours would sail by.

Boredom and crap food have a way of sapping spirit like nothing else...

good luck for a speedy recovery not just to your sis but also to everyone mentioned.

my cuz had a really hard time in her teens, she had scholiosis(curving of the spine) and had to have a 12hr op to get 2 steel rods inserted in her back to straighten in out.
then a year later,15 i think, she had a 10lb tumour removed ...ovarian cancer...youngest person to have it in the uk ever at the time

was touch and go at one point....it wasnt spotted for ages because she was wearing a full torso plaster cast after her op

thankfully all went well and she now lives in barcalona with her bf

shes a trooper and never once complained, and still managed to study for her exams and pass them all....shes a hero in my eyes
