Shouting at the F1 Qualifying...
I agree with Gareth as much as the media goes. Ok they havent overhyped him but they keep on and on about him. However ITV did give good mention to both Button and Davidson today so its not like anyone is getting left out.
I loved nothing more than Hamilton finishing third at the last race. The commentators were going on about oh no whats happened to Hamilton, he's third this is a disaster. Mmm no its not, its still bloody good. Yes he's quick but he needs beaten sometimes to keep a check on reality and respect for the other drivers.

The crowd reaction was immense, would have loved to have been there.delands wrote:Too sunburnt at Silverstone to reply anything sensible but the place was jumping when Hamilton took pole!
At the moment I am hugely supportive of Hamilton, I dont think you can argue that there is some real driving talent in his bones. Hopefully he wont dissappear up his own arse in a Schuhufferesque display of arrogance. There was just hint a few weeks ago with his 'monkeys' comment when referring to passing backmarkers.

I'm no big fan of Hamilton, more apathetic to be honest. I can see where people come from the slick presentation / media hype is a pain in the bahookie.
Credit where credit is due the boy pulled one out the hat today to clinch pole, but I think tommorow will be a good test of his abilities before final qualifying he made a few mistakes and with the top 4 cars very close ,Ferrari on a resurgence and Alonsowanting to prove his stuff. It will make for good racing.
As for wanting him in the tyres that is a bit off.
I have heard good chance of rain woo hoo
bummer if your there watching but I prefer the racing

His old man has put a hell of a lot of effort into where Lewis is today, the fact he had 3 jobs to fund his karting says it all to me. How many parents do you know that are willing to do that for your hobbie? I know what my old man would say!!
The media is just the typical brittish press, but at least he deserves the attention, 1st season - 8 races - 8 podiums and 2 wins at 22yrs old.
Good luck to the guy!!!

Could not agree more!
What can I say Tut....Just my opinion.tut wrote:Gareth
You do make silly comments at times.

RE the comment about having 3 jobs to support your kid....I would do it in a heart beat. I would put my daughter before anyone and anything.
Putting aside he's in the best car, he definately seems like the real deal but it's just a shame he may fall under the Press spell. Press can make you but also break you just as quick.
Still wanting Massa or Alonso to win.

Kimi had the pace to take pole but dropped it on the last corner, I thought he was way too early on the throttle...nearly as curious as Davidsons 'drifting' off.
Great effort by Lewis Hamilton today though and all credit to him. Sometimes the little things need to go your way to win a world championship.

lewis is just doing his job and doing it really well.
the british press love a good story.....they will prob turn on him in a couple of years if he has a bad start to a season.
the praise the ressurection of him once he starts winning again
disappointed in you saying that G.....
lewis and his family seem like nice genuine hard working people, and i for one hope the succuess continues

Yes, I couldn't help but think of "carlimits.com" ... how hard can it benearly as curious as Davidsons 'drifting' off.

From a more distant point of view (we don't have the English commentary in Holland) I can just say LH is doing an utterly great job.Gareth wrote: Putting aside he's in the best car, he definately seems like the real deal but it's just a shame he may fall under the Press spell. He seems to be very VERY talented on track.. Despite all the media, the race track is where it's all happening. He's the one to do the job and he seems to be doing it.
If he continues doing that and grows into all the tactics (which he might not be good at as he's lacking experience), I can't see press breaking him.
He's just doing a great job

....alot better then the spoiled Cloggy boy!
He seems to be a good example of the wrong person in a car. Last week he gave an interview in which he said "Everybody is comparing myself with Sutil. How can they do that? Sutil is a very gifted person, he could even be the new Schumacher, so how on earth should I compete with him?"

Frustration perhaps at the press hype... I would love Hamilton to turn round and say something that bursts the "good boy" image. Then perhaps we will get more balanced comentary.
He cant stay the good boy forever. He needs to get agresive and start working on the intimidation. Nobody on track is flustered by him. Schumacher could almost scare people off the track...
A bit like see Tut or McKean in your mirrors at KH......
You know its time to shift over..
