Government are considering stepping down from the current security alert level as we speak.

These lagging indicators just make the Government look incompetent and ill-informed.
Any idiot can say after a bombing "security should be on full alert".
The value-added is to say this before the bombing attempts

Glad I'm not in the RAF anymore, they go to high alert and close the base down. Proper knee jerk response.
The government in all its wisdom have replaced the traditional Bikini system with its 5 steps of alert to the new national 3 steps. a cynic would say that was to keep the public on edge as the alert level will never be on the zero setting

Just think though if it had happened last week some junkie would have just stolen it.
Then we might have had the headline
Al-Qaeda target Kilmarnock crack house, Longpark destroyed - Area Improved
Oh FFS
Your not wrong though

Could be worse, the French have a 3-teir system:-
1. Retreat
2. Surrender

Yup, Central Station was crawling with armed response yesterday, back to usual today (albeit with with one half of the big entrance gates closed, so you couldn't just drive, say, a jeep in)

I dropped the Mrs off at the airport this morning and was surprised at how much damage the baddies had caused. A lot worse than it looked on tv and the whole place stinks of burnt plastic - bit like my car last summer.

Liverpool Airport has been shut down today due to a suspicious car being found .
Apparently it was taxed, insured, had wheels and the radio was still in it .

I was being dropped off in Cardiff airport on Sunday night. Shock horror, coppers everywhere and no vehicle access to terminal.
What a load of P**H!
Get some perspective and check out what's happening in Baghdad.
In this country i'm more likely to be killed by a golf ball than a terrorist attack. And i don't even play golf!
(mini rant at no one in particular now over)

Shug, I think the central station extra security was partly terrorism related and also because Prince Charles was coming to Glasgow yesterday. Think he might have been travelling by train.
I've got 2 trips to London Heathrow next week from Glasgow Airport. Think I'll arrive a wee bit earlier than usual for the security checks!
