I did.... they are all out (and it was Pauline pushing, so if there was one, I'd have it)
Did think of the possibility of a nice S2 Exige for this cold weekend
Oh, and Pauline also tried to extract a hire car out of my insurance company (again, not her job, but she's a star!)

Shug,
Si Ironside had a similar issue with Autoglass when he had his car in at Wallyford for clam removal.
Wallyford rejected 3 of the windscreens Autoglass tried to install as they didn't fit right.
Apparently they try to fit "pattern" windscreens - not the original ones from Lotus.
Something to watch out for.
Cheers

Well, MMC are inspecting the next one they supply before calling me to book me in. Should be no issues then...
Chip is in leading edge - looks like the screen has been sat on it's edge on the storeroom floor. Pathetic...
Pauline has been working like a demon to sort this out. Can't praise her enough - may have to treat her to dinner...

Updates continue:
Was called early doors by Autoglass this morning to ask if the car was still in the garage as they had a new screen. Somebody's not been paying attention...
Couldn't get time to call MMC Glasgow for a few hours, but they called me first to say that they'd been onto autoglass and checked that there was no marking, chips, cracks etc. on the screen. Booked me in tomorrow for fitting.
We'll see how this one goes.....

Somehow Shug, I don't think you needed any excuse to take Pauline out for dinner....

Shug, MMC Glasgow have had my car twice/three times now (can't remember) - it has yet to see a hoover a hose or a wet sponge. Every time the car is in Edinburger it's handed back gleaming. It's a wee thing but it kinda makes you feel that they care that wee bit more.
Also, I've never mentioned this before but I had the undertray off recently and discovered a lump of Wrigleys stuck inside it - again this is just a wee thing but it doesn't make you feel your car is treated with respect.
I've always found that Pauline goes the extra mile to help however I've unfortunately had so many disappointments with work done in Glasgow, Edinburgh and at Wallyford - I was getting to the point where I EXPECTED that I would have to make a return visit any time my car was with them - that I feel that Pauline's valiant efforts at customer service are merely polishing a turd. Pauline gets 12 out of 10, unfortunately the workshops get a considerably lower score. Also I'm not confident that the Glasgow guys use the Lotus recommended consumables like oil, coolant and the likes. </rant>
Cheers,
Iain.

Agree with you 100% there Iain, Pauline is always helpful and does try and do that little bit more to help. e.g. when my car was damaged by the JM bodyshop, Pauline got on to them to try and sort it out, despite it being nothing to do with her.
But you're right, the workshop isn't the same. They don't even take the time to put your undertray back on correctly, or tighten bolts enough so that they fall out half way home.
Hopefully Falkland in Glenrothes will make the jump to become an official Lotus place and give MMC some competition. They're maybe bit far for you westies but fairly convenient for me

I can assure you guys that the level of service you've described at its very worst is a HUGE step up from the service I get from Vauxhall
If the mechanics formed a circle and kicked the sh*t out of me when i came to pick up the car i would feel like that had treated me with more respect.
I've now decided its NEVER going near them again and all servicing will be carried out by Brunty. At least i know he cares about the cars.

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

I was pretty reluctant to hand over more than 300 big ones for an A service. But when I got the car back it had been valeted and it even looked as if they had the wheels off, do they do that? I thought an A was an oil change and a kick in the teeth?
Was pleasantly surprised after all the bad press MMC get - some competition would do them good though!

Bit late with final update. Lot been going on in my life....
Still, got the car back Tuesday night okay. No hassles, no dramas. Unimpressed with the level of general effort shown by MMC Glasgow, but stunned by the care shown by Pauline at Edinburgh.
Also, not so much as an apology from Autoglass (in person or writing) for being so frigging sloppy as to fit 2(!) chipped windscreens....
Moral of story? If you must go to MMC for something - make the effort to go through to Edin...
