...err, well the clam and sill were a factor in the negotiated price.

Not the rad though, that happened after I sold it...same for the rear shocks, heater fan, clutch etc....

I guess some people have different ideas about distances, see this link below, Seloc NE and Borders section talking about a run, I know the roads quite well that they are talking about, the route that's first mentioned is approx 50miles one way, so 100 in total but could be more depending which way they decide to go back, check out the comment a little further down. Compare this to a normal SE run.

Got my Elise at the start of April with 4K on the clock - it was almost a year to the day old at that time. Its now sitting at just under 10K so I've done more than the 1st owner already I suppose. Not bad for a second car - however a fair chunk of my miles were done in a single trip to Wales / south of England in the summer. Hoping to do a lot in Europe next year so it will probably be the same story again.

I bought my 99 with 45k, it's now got 51K.

Mileage didn't bother me when I bought it (car had been tracked with receips for regular oil, tre's, bj's & geo) & really don't see the point in worrying about mileage considering that the residuals of pretty much anything with a K series in it are in freefall anyway at the mo.

I suppose it wholly depends on how long you are planning on keeping your car.

Personally I'm going to rag the aerse off of mine till the K series craters (hopefully 5+ years & 50K miles, ha, ha, touches big bit of wood & prays) and then get a conversion & the ammount of dough that entails with very little chance of recouperation (judging by Audi'd/Honda'd cars for sale on P'heads) makes any value lost due to high mileage pale into insignificance.

Just drive it! 8)

Bought my 02 S2 at the end of August this year with 20160 miles, now nearly 23000.

Never used it at all for all of last week, and it also missed a trip up north a few weeks ago, or else I would be over 23000 by now.

:P
