Good point Brian.

As the kids are treating me, twill probably be an Argentinian or New World Sauvignon.

ps Was just looking through my old World Atlas of Wines, and it nearly made me cry. I had old receipts in there from 1977 when we came back from Oman, and I used to order from Balls Brothers in London. 1st growths, Haut Brion and Mouton Rothschild '66 at £5.50, 2nd growths, Ducru-Beaucaillou, Leoville-Lascours '66 at £2.90, Chassagne-Montrachet '72 at £3.15.

Do a Google and compare todays prices. In fact just checked on a '66 Rothschild, £936. Needless to say, those days have gone.

Sanjoy

I remember seeing that Segal film, and of course herself appearing out of the cake was the only notable thing about it.

She certainly is exceedingly healthy........

Those days have gone for everyone except city traders with bonuses - I'm old enough to remeber drinking '66 Latour (once!) and '67 Ducru Beaucaillou in restaurants in London - good Champagne in Savoy was £7.50 a bottle - have receipts for an epic stag night out :)
