i had a problem on ebay about a year ago.
bought something for about 200 quid.
guy said he was waiting on the funds to go into his bank (via paypal).
waited the 2 days.
no emails from him.
tried contacting, no response.
he had left ebay.
tried to go via paypal to get my money back and it took ages! only got about 100 back - so had to claim the rest from the credit card.

paypal sucks!

Not really had any problems in selling or buying stuff on ebay and in fact had some surprises at goods received. Set of BMW panniers described as used turned up brand spanking new at a fraction of the cost new from BMW.

Did have one Payapl problem where the money went out of my account to pay for a purchase (the panniers in fact) and then went back in. I hadn't noticed that it had gone back in and started giving the guy a bit of grief as to why he hadn't posted the stuff yet. Never found out why his paypal account declined the payment. Just sent cheque and had goods within 2 days.

While in W H Smith today I remembered back to the forerunner of Ebay, Exchange & Mart. Best bargain was a set of brand new skis made by some company called Swallow. A fraction of the cost of other skis and while they didn't have the fancy name, they worked fine. (must put them on ebay as I only use Ski Blades these days).
