I don't understand. According to facebook you get a free exige v6 in the unlikely event they don't fix you car in time for your driving holiday.

Doesn't everyone get that treatment?
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

The worst thing about all of this is i'm now very unlikley to buy a new Lotus as warranty issues would have to go to MMC for resolution and I really don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. Shame really as I've been holding out for the Evora 400 Roadster which I could buy from another dealer but having to take it to MMC is enough to stop me buying it now. It really is sad times so when the time comes to move away from the Evora it will likely be something that isn't a Lotus unless it is used and out of warranty anyway.
Would I be right in thinking there is a Lotus dealer in Carlise? Not too far for the central belt peeps - assuming they have a good rep.
Still a fair trek from here, 240 miles round trip for me.

I suspect you need to have thrown more business at them than I have to get that sort of treatment. Best I've ever had is a Volvo D40.

I suspect that the reality is more to do with who you've used for servicing.

Swear allegiance to MMC and a good courtesy car is all yours. Dare to use the competition and boom.... You're on a black list.

Allegedly.

i was promised a "replacement vehicle" when my car broke down on the way home, exhibiting the very fault that they couldn't replicate in the weeks they had had it.

I got a D40 too.

Happy I was not. I have other cars - it was a sportscar i wanted.

I don't think there is an individual being singled out here. The business isn't providing a decent level of service and is publically providing better levels of service to different customers.

I don't know SAJ, but a petrol head colleague now has a thing about Evoras and I'm pretty sure it was thanks to seeing Saj's a couple of times (do you go to PH meets Saj?) - that sells cars.
Probably as many cars as an advert does these days. And those sales become servicing etc.... Should that provide him with a better than average level of service?

How about SAJ's family buying SIX cars in as many years?
Should that?

And if not that then what?

And it doesn't read like he's asking for anything special, just competence!

Sad to read this thread. I haven't had any issues with MMC but I do remember the pre Craig days when I was close to abandoning Lotus after issues, delays and poor service. It is frustrating when a high end car isn't supported with appropriate back- up and it destroys reputation in a brand for the owner and friends and colleagues who see their frustration.
I have heard good things about Lotus Carlisle and not so good things about Lotus Newcastle (Stoneacre) now that F1 Newcastle is no more.
I hope that Lotus and their dealers get their act together so the after sales matches the price point and performance of the cars.

Pete, it's likely he's either seen me at the TT meets, GT Scotland meets or some other meet. I do get around  and the 2bular is usually what draws attention to the Evora espcially when I take people for pax rides. Taken many people out on Rev Limit runs and at the recent Rev Limits track days and always get a "wow, didn't realise how good these cars are" comments.

I've sent so many people to MMC you wouldn't believe it. The most recent example being the Exige LF1 purchase by Perfromance Portfolio which was following many conversations between myself and the PP guys including a solid recommendation from me to go and buy it from MMC. I don't regret the recommendation as the guys got a solid car and the sales team have never been an issue but it is also my last recommendation for MMC too.

Just to throw a recent rumour into the mix... won't say where it came from but I absolutely believe the individual that passed this tit bit on to me..

Allegedly...

The last two remaining Lotus trained/certified mechanics handed there notice in a month ago. One resigned and walked out on the spot and the other handed them his notice and worked his last two or four weeks or whatever notice period he had to work. The technicians now servicing Lotus cars have been pulled in from Kia? or Volvo.

Now whether this is the whole story or not or whether it is completely correct in the telling , it would offer some explanation for the work not being done to standard.

Perhaps someone in the know can clarify what makes a "Lotus Certified" mechanic and if MMC still have any?

As I have said above, allegedly this is the case, or at least it was a month ago...

I have no personal experience in recent years with MMC, certainly no service or repair work in the last five years. Brandon was always extremely welcoming when I went in for a look at what was on offer and always made me feel welcome. I bear no grudges to MMC in any way.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

In an ideal world, it would be great if someone from MMC were to read all these posts and then to show them to their manager or someone within MMC who would then call you Saj and ask you to come in for a meeting to discuss how they could work together with you and resolve the situation.

I do think that would be a most excellent outcome Steve.

sh*t happens. It is how you deal with it that sets you apart and everything can be resolved properly over a cuppa and a face to face chat when convenient to the customer.

I'm a newish Lotus owner and it was down to Brandon that I am an enthusiastic Lotus owner so I do hope MMC can get back on track. Competition gives people a choice and options, what with CM and no Hayton's in Carlisle there is real competition so the bar needs to be raised to respond, not lowered.

As for a rumoured blacklist if you use a competitor I really do hope that is just idle chit chat and not the truth. Pretty petty and small minded if not and says volumes about character.

I think this has gone way beyond that, Saj has given them plenty of time and opportunity to rectify the situation and ultimately had to deal with lotus directly himself to get anywhere. Not only that he was given his car back with parts not fitted and with faults that were not present on the car when it was passed to them. The fact that they deny responsibility for said faults and improper re-fitment of the interior is shocking from a main agent!
