Which trip was that Robin? I remember one horrendous run home with you and I think it was Campbell, and apart from the traction the visibility was virtually nil from S1 headlights.

I remember when you were up front clearing water for me in the 2-11 on worn 48's...so we could go fast enough to overtake the lorries! :shock:

All, remember to turn off cruise control when there is risk of aquaplaning.

In my experience of CC and aquaplaning, one wheel spins, creating a speed differential across the axle, which triggers the CC to cancel. Can be quite subtle - very minor squirm can be enough to find yourself slowing.

It annoys me when mine goes off, you even have to reset the speed :lol: :lol:

Dom and Mike - exactly this.

And yes, it even cancels the memory!


Earlier this year we had a hellish run back from Glasgow airport at around 2am during torrential storms....down to 30mph at bits due to the sheer volume of water on the road.

Mrs Bee was sh!tting herself, I was knackered by the time we all got home!

I never engage Cruise in v v wet conditions. In fact I also use it less in "just wet" conditions too, now. Due to dangerous and patchy tarmac product choices funnily enough.

Outbound on Frolic this year was fairly biblical, from St Quentin to Geneva. Poor Kenny & Lesley :-(
