Sky broadband either comes in the fibre variety (more costly) or regular via the BT network infrastructure, so would be probably be about the same unless you paid the extra.
It was a BT technician who Sky sent up to fit our phone line etc..

*Bites hand....... BT technician or BT Engineers don't exist. Haven't for 7 years. Ofcom separated the engineers from BT-the phone company. You had an Openreach engineer like me

I had to give up Sky in Feb as I could not really justify the expense anymore for the full £85 package. However I regularly receive offers for me to rejoin again, starting with 10% off, then 15, 20, 25, and today 50%, so have now renewed the whole package at half price for 12 months.
Now watching Practice 2, and Verian has her favourite programs back.

ps:- also a half price offer on Groupon today, but I could not use that as I have been a customer in the past 12 months.

I recently came to the end of my deal, 1/2 price for 12 month and then paid in full for one month. Phoned to cancel and got offered another year 1/2 price. Recently got BT sport added for free too as BT broadband customer, cant wait for the season to start!

Greetings from Phuket airport!
Not back in the Uk until the 12th August but im pretty sure there is a friends and family deal at the moment which would give you half price for 12 months. Not sure of the exact details until i go into my work email and not doing that anytime soon!
Package wise they've broken them up a fair bit so you should be able to tailor it to your circumstances pretty well. Hd is well worth having IMHO.
BB wise only go for it if you are prepared / are able to change you line provider as well.......sky bb over an BT line sucks big time.
Send me a Pm at the start of august to remind me and ill check the deal out when i get back.

You should have other things on your mind Martin!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great time, Phuket was one of my old haunts back in the 60's on R&R, but I was there for a different reason, or then again maybe not.

Just picked up the Sky TV friends and family deal. £25 pcm for 25 months for the full package. Taken out in the Mrs name using diff bank account
Took it out for the cricket and F1 channel as I was paying £2? pcm any ways so no brainer. Forgot I would get a new box, never went for the 2TB box but got one with wifi (I hard wire it anyway) and some new sockets (coaxial digital).
HOW GOOD is the picture and sound compared to my old gen 1 Sky HD box?! HDMI and Optical to the amp as per before but when I got in last night and forgot the engineer had been I found myself asking Mrs Sanjoy if she had changing settings after the kids had been messing with it.
So, its a good offer take it if you can get it and if you like to up your tech you will notice the difference.

Quidco offering £100 of vouchers when signing up to Sky via their website last week (one of the guys at work signed up - i'm a fervent Sky hater).
Most ordinary users will not benefit that much from going to optical from conventional ADSL unless you stream movies a lot.
In Charlies case it may depend on what exchange he's served by (I can't remember where the changeover is in that area)- he (I think) will be served by Lochnagar, in which case he's about as far away from an exchange as you can be in town.
If he's served by West he's a bit closer to it so his speed should be better.

My free for a year Sky deal has just ended. If anyone needs a dish, mine is available FOC to collect (from the chimney).
