VX seats bulkier then the rest, and engine bulkhead a different shape

Sit in a post MY06 car with Probax seats (ideally Sport pack not Touring); you'll have an extra 2 inches (ish) but check you can comfortably select 5th gear with foot off the clutch
I'll try and hunt one down - thanks for that.

Well I am 6ft 2 but have a whopping 36 inch inside leg and I found both my Elise and exige to be very comfortable. I am very particular about my driving position, especially as a niggling knee problem means I like to have my legs nice and straight. The Exige and I assume later Elise's too have a daft bracket at the base of the seat which prevents the seat back going right up to the bulkhead. I ended up taking the seat out and doing some surgery on the seat mounting to get round this and it made a big difference. So, I reckon should fit ok, perhaps with a bit of tinkering.

For what it is worth I found that the Boxster I drove was poor for legroom, although that was an early model and they may well be different now.

Thanks for the info - I have a chap on the VX220 forum coming over with his car tonight which will let me have a better look at the seat situation without a salesman breathing down my neck. Brian on here has also kindly offered to let me have a look around his Exige which has probax seats this weekend.

I was having a look at seat options and although I don't really know what I'm talking about, the seats below look as if they should give a fair bit more headroom:

The problem is, when the time comes, do I go out and buy a car I *hope* will fit me with the addition of a new seat? That said, if Brian's turns out to be suitable then at least I'll know just how big a difference the seats can make! :thumbsup

I think if you put the seat onto fixed mountings rather than the runners you'll get more headroom. This is the kit for the Exige - http://www.deroure.com/partinfo.asp?MAK ... PBID=31311
Presumably there's something similar available for the VX
Exige V6

Thanks for the link - I think there's a few options for the VX as well. Not set on any car at the moment but if I don't go down the Elise/ VX route I'm at a total loss as to what to get...it'll be a daily driver so needs to have a roof etc lol

VX is the best way to go.

My recommendation is in no way shaped by the fact we are selling a VX at the moment... :blackeye

If you fancy comparing an S1 to a VX, and a trip to Dundee, give me a shout as we currently have both..

Lol Dundee wasn't what I expected but I liked the McManus and we had a nice meal in a cracking restaurant (not Papa Joes which was dire)
