Public sector is a long way from what you described, last pay increase was 2008 (1%) effectively equates to about 10-12% fall in standard of living.
Pension contributions increased in 2011 -a sliding scale of increases (personally1.9%) . Recruitment freeze for the last 3 years, 4500 voluntary redundancies. My staff dropped from 40+ to 28. I have recently taken my staff into the private sector so we could increase our operating area and secure futures ( now doubled the footprint but only 6 extra staff)
I could go on but sure you get the drift . I'm not moaning about the public sector ( or the private sector for that matter) just demonstrating its not as rosy as people think and tbh I'm thankful to still have a good income but my god we work for it :blackeye :blackeye

P.S. not having a go at you either - just saying.
