Thata actually a very good point - you can only have a loss leader if there are other products where your real profit lies.
If all your products are loss leaders...........................................

The good news is they are producing them in RHD, unlike the 8C, with 150 coming to the UK, so at least a chance we might see one on the road. Never seen an 8C in the wild.

I've twice had the fortune of seeing and hearing and 8C - once in Paris, and more recently in erm Dundee :D

Looks stunning in the flesh, and the noise 8) 8) 8) :thumbsup

seen a few 8C's - was a bit in vogue in 2010 when i did some rounds of the LOT Trophy.

Looked awesome.

4C I'm not sold on - hoe its finally a great Alfa - would love to see them with something awesome in the line-up that isnt a thinly veiled Ferrari product.

It would be great to see a v6 exige and a 4c out on track. So we can find out what breaks down first.

Alfa looks amazing, near perfect until the lights. What were they thinking :/

More importantly, assuming that most of us are here part for the fact that we all love the Lotus ethos of performance through lightweight, nice to see a major manufacturer (as in Fiat group) getting on the band wagon.

Hoping they aren't selling below cost or maybe it helps sales and then a Fiat/Abarth version is created too.. It's been a while since we've had a 2 seat Fiat, the Barchetta and Coupe were both great looking cars :)

Those lights are hideous and a serious mistake in my book. Let's hope Alfa see sense before it goes into production. If they don't then on a plus point you'll be able to get replacements from Halfords.

Those headlights are a knowing homage to the aftermarket lights owners fitted to that ill conceived Impreza Subaru built in the early part of the last decade.

"Imagine" the conversation must have gone, "owners actually buy these lights to retro fit them but we'll fit them as standard. Hot cakes, I'm telling you." But in Italian.

I am liking the look of the Caterham/renault Alpine joint venture to rival the 4C, anyone read the article in this months Evo?

Hopefully they stay away from the carbon chassis and keep the cost a bit more realistic £~35k

The only real innovative engineering I can relate to the S1 extrusion work is Lambos carbon work. And what better a JV than to partner with Callaway to keep the cost down and share the tech with a non rival. Although Lamborghini have been at it a long time and set a few cf firsts for production cars.

Although did Pagini (ex lambo) not use/develop a carbon titanium weave?

Everyone mentions the price with these, but in fairness the likes of an astra vxr or renaultsport megane are now knocking on the best part of £30k new, which seems just as daft but makes a carbon chassis sports car for £60k sound a bit better in comparison.
I still can't afford either!

A 1.7 in line four doesn't quite cut it when over £50k in my book.
