There will be an unveiling when we get the car

Congratulations SAJ, you have picked a good set of options.

However I would definitely recommend the diamond cut wheels after seeing Solar Yellow in the factory. The diamond cut stops the wheels being lost in the arches but it's just a personal opinion.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it some thought.

Did you take any pictures of the Solar Yellow one at the factory?

SAJ, unfortunately we were not allowed to take pics otherwise I would have recorded our entire visit to go over the colour options. Maybe worth a look popping across to the LEGS forum as there is a piccie thread but does not have every colour yet.

SAJ,

Looking at the Carbon together you can see the tyres/wheels are lost on the car without the diamond cuts.

Also Solar Yellow in the background without the diamond cuts.

Thanks George, this was one of the pictures that confirmed Solar Yellow for me. When is yours due for delivery?

Do you think it likely you'll get a May delivery for an order that's just been placed?

You've presumably seen the thread on SELOC re deliveries for orders made a year or more ago. From what I recall of that, autumn/winter would be more realistic (if not optimistic.)

The orders from a year ago were made before production started and they have only recently started production (at the end of last year) with first deliveries this month, so it is possible/ likely that production is now ramped up for orders just being placed to take a couple of months :thumbsup

I'm sure Murrays still have/ had some cancelled build slots which may have sped things up!

Congrats on the car mate - I'm sure it'll be a stunner. Also sure that there's a raft of cancelled orders from the recent unpleasantness which will have freed up a good amount of build slots, so would be relatively confident in the delivery date if MMC have been confident enough to confirm it for you.

Only point to raise on the diamond cut/no diamond cut debate is that whilst they definitely look better, I've never seen a diamond cut alloy that didn't corrode well before it's time - even those owned by proper polishers.

The ECOTY DVD was a reasonable watch and gave great feedback on the V6. 8) :thumbsup

That is actually one of the reasons I spec'd full black as a friend of mine had diamond cut wheels on his M3 and after the first winter the salt had killed them. Not sure it if would happen as quickly on the Exige given there isn't much of it there but still potential for it to happen and my car will be driven everyday come rain, snow or sunshine.

I did think maybe doing the diamond cut bits in Solar Yellow but I'm not good with photoshop so can't see what it might potentially look like.
