I promised not to mention it again but.....will be another 2 weeks until I get my Audi back after it was taken from the front door. Allegedly the scumbag is already in prison but it may also be the case he has already been released for good behavior. At least I know his name, what he looks like, where his family stay and what car his GF drives but I still do not sleep easy at night knowing this type have no fear at all of the law. That is by far a bigger issue than the fact they are stealing cars. They have grown up in a society that is far too soft on those who openly flout the law as they know there is next to no comeback. Do not go after the law breakers, go after the law makers and change things back so that there is respect for others and a certain amount of fear in the younger generation. Only then will we be able to move forward.

Either that or kneecapping. Baseball bat fitted with 6 inch nail. From behind, no warning, no chat, no reference, no trace.

Sorry. I know this is meant to be a place for positive and friendly meeting of minds but these guys really are taking the p--s.

Also a lot of plant machinery being stolen at the moment. JCB, Cat stuff etc - machinery being dismantled on site and parts taken away so it's by people who know what they're doing.

Mate had his RS4 nicked. Was found torched beside Stonehaven. 3 or 4 other cars stolen from his street on the same night.

This is putting me off moving to Aberdeen, you don't get this sort of thing happening in Glasgow.

Got to admire our legal system, make a slightly racist/sectarian joke on facebook and it's straight to jail, posting about the cars you are stealing is fine though.

Don't worry. Can understand the angst and utter frustration. Had my share of vandal damages and other mindless nonsense over the years (some of it in ABZ too, I'm afraid!) and it just makes you want to spit teeth. Or break some.

How did you find that out? The only apprentices we have are Designers (CAD People). I'll find out tomorrow...

It'll be Mr H, the apprentice .... discuss further tomorrow :D

Tis all relative M, we have lived twenty miles North of Aberdeen now for twenty years, keys left in the cars in the drive, house doors left unlocked.

Probably not the best bet from the Insurance point of view, break in's do not really matter as they will get in anyway, but they have to decide whether they want to take the dogs on, plus me with a golf iron.

If they are trying to rob me Ferg, then they are not robbing you.

Need some excitement in life, plus have some surprises that can not be advertised but would be pretty effective.

He's got it on his profile - been at GE since Aug 2010. Admittedly he's got over 1000 "friends" so is unlikely to know Garthdee boy very well...

This is very sad and I feel for the owners who have lost their cars to these characters.
The facebook page beggars belief with the taunts directed at Grampian's finest.

As an employer we now check all "Social" websites as well as the usual background checks, and if you have reason to believe that a current employee has an affiliation to something/someone that would bring your company into disrepute...............then wheel him in for a chat and alert the appropriate authorities ?

I have heard of some companies in the states doing this. I would sincerely hope that no UK companies are so cavalier about personal freedoms just yet...
