There was a TV show when I was young about a hunter who was always being outwitted by rabbits, and he tried everything. Even when he did shoot the damn thing it just made the rabbits face go all black, but didn't seem to particularly discourage him. So shotguns don't work nor does disguising a piece of dynamite as a carrot (of which they are very fond) by painting it orange. This is an especially bad idea as you mentioned they were close to your house.
Now as I think about it it was always the same rabbit that outwitted him, and it could talk, so possibly other rabbits would be easier. Be warned though they are particularly fond of sticking carrots in the barrels of firearms causing them to backfire. (Although I suggest you are probably getting too close if this becomes a serious issue for you). In fact I suspect that if they are allowing you to get so close they can reach your gun then you could probably just start clubbing them. Don't let the rabbit take your gun though, which is something that seemed to happen with alarming regularity in the TV show.
HTH.
Without a doubt the best SE post I have ever seen. Well played Pete. Saving this to the memory bank so I can nominate it for the best post award at the end of the year!

It was bloody good but I though his second reply with Jessica Rabbit was even better

And Robin thanks for the caramel advert, had forgotten all about them

Hairdresser at heart.

(Can you guess who's family was away for the weekend leaving me with slightly too much time to spend on a certain, currently desperately quiet, internet forum? Rather than say fix the brakes on my car.)
Good call on the Cadbury's bunny. She was lovely. Hugh Heffner made a fortune sexualising bunnies and no-one judged him*.

Love Pete's suggestion however I would contact PETA and ask if they know anywhere that test cosmetics on animals as you want to kidnap a couple of them.
Will save you loads of money on purchasing make-up as Maybeline costs a fortune nowadays, especially if you go for the gloss look effect on the your female rabbit.

Of course there was no rabbit in the Flake advert, but it happened to be alongside the Caramel one when I looked at the YouTube video, and naturally if you remember it, that is why I like it.
It was even the original one back from the 60's in black and white which was quite daring for those days, and I think they had to remove it.
What was this about rabbits?

Get in touch with Glenn Close of Fatal Attraction fame.
She managed to catch a rabbit, albeit a pet rabbit and made a lovely soup with it.

That looks more like something from a horror movie than a rabbit ...
