mileage is a funny beast, I'm totally with the guys that are put off by that here. With some cars, mileage don't matter - with the sort of use the upgrades suggest this car has had, 82k could involve a fark load (a clucking fark load) of track mileswoody wrote: 82k though.

Or it might never have been near a track, and just hacked up the m-way and back. As if
Suspect some have personal knowledge of the owner which will verify this of course.
Wouldn't buy it for the green bits though

Yep he can't really ask much more - regardless of the bits, it will possibly turn 100k in the hands of the next owner (didn't see owners mentioned, may read again.....might be 6).....a standard 04 190 in Black with the original spec but 25k miles would fetch more. With the add-ons people know it's been driven "enthusiastically"...GregR wrote:mileage is a funny beast, I'm totally with the guys that are put off by that here. If I had the money track use would never put me off a car so long as the car is maintained and serviced accordingly, the turning 100K stigma is what would scare me but with a car this well spec'd It'd most likely be a keeper anyway so wouldn't concern me so long as the price was right...
Cars used on track in my experience are most likely to be better maintained and anything likely to break will have been replaced already... Some may not be so well maintained but a car like this will generally be known on the forums so the history is easily checked and know issues listed which will most likely have been resolved?

I agree with you to an extent, Mark. What you're referring to re. maintenance is things like consumables being replaced at good (safe) intervals like brake disks, toe-links, pads, tyres etc by a track driver, as we all know what the useful servicable life of those parts are.
In terms of the engine, short of changing the oil after every trackday, there's little you can do to ensure its in tip-top condition other than a rebuild. 86k on a 190 exige is probably stretching things, particularly if it spends 50% of its life above 6k rpm. With this car, the output has been increased by the charger so you're putting more stress on the engine than 'recommended' (I say that loosely, as I'm sure there's a school of thought that limited output on the 2zz for emissions or longevity or something and it could have coped with more) by the manufacturer. I'd venture that even Hethel themselves haven't seen what effect that sort of high-revving mileage (has on that engine in their standard 'S', 240R or Cup engines with a similar output. I'm not saying its destined to go pop, but i'd say you're looking at a pretty increased chance of it doing so

Yep - the box - Mr C will be along shortly to remind us why. We did a good few crunchy synchros in 2nd last year - mostly in "customer enhanced" cars...

My standard CR has the crunching 2nd too

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

great looking car but all the non-standard stuff would scare me off .... not to mention the mileage.
