No I don't need an Escort...

Well the plot thickens, phoned AOL they wanted £900 for the liz alone, then another £400 for the group 12 Mitzi. Admiral multicar wanted £650 for the Liz and £470 for the Mitzi.

I then checked a group 9 Vectra diesel (I feel dirty) and the insurance for the Vectra alone was over £400... Beginning to think that it is the area that is dragging it up, that, the lack of no-claims and the driveway parking. So I will probably get the Galant, STFU and pay the insurance. It'll drop when I get some NCB and some more years older

Have you tried asking whoever you're with (Bell IIRC?) if they will mirror your ncb?

I have found a few that will but they are still expensive. the area is pretty rough round the edges. To check, I put a 1.3 Ford Ka on confused and it came back at over £350 cheapest FFS! It dropped to £130 when i put my NCB against it.

E-mailed Adrian Flux in desperation....

Prolly end up paying in the end as I can't ring myself to buy a complete sh!tter!

Interestingly a Porsche 924 is only £388 with no NCB....

If only I could get past the "Darling I have bought a Porsche" without getting castrated. She won't want to know that it's a classic, cheap, people's porsche, she'll just kill me :(

How does this sound? Insurance is a bit on the steep side but the bodywork looks mint and it's £400 below budget at £1600.

Bolocks to the fuel, I only have to get 20 miles a day commuting.

Do the seats fold down does anyone know? I will need to fill it to the gunnels with my crap when I move back down south.

I don't think BM rear seats fold down, that's part of the reason they are alleged to handle so well, the extra strength/non-flex from having solid metal behind the seats and not a folding bench..
Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.

Silver Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD, on SORN spec...

Black Disco 3, black van man spec...

What about a saab 9-5 / 9000 ?

Cheap as chips and (slightly) interesting. My old man has had nothing but Saabs since i was in short trousers and I'm really quite fond of them.

He used to have a chipped, lowered 2.3 turbo 9000 that was supercar fast in the mid-range. 8)
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?
