If the markings outside a school are
yellow zig-zags then there will be appropriate signing explaining times if/when parking is permitted, clearway periods, loading times, etc (in the same manner as for single yellows)
like here (isn't Street View brilliant

).
I expect the zig-zags on a high street are of the white variety in the vicinity of a pedestrian crossing. Crossings are used by pedestrians 24/7

Life's a fecker, but it's an important habit to never park on white zig zags which are mainly around pedestrian crossings of some sort. Whatever the time of day / night I'm afraid.
In this instance the fine and points will probably do their disincentive job...and you may well go on to tell your friends of the dire consequences which shalt beset any poor bedraggled motorist who contravenes said section of The Highway Code

No bad thing.
Campbell
PS - for £60 you could probably have had the pizza delivered by a rented Lotus Exige

Chin up, the points'll be gone in 3 years.

I did too, until I got 'Street View inquisitive'.
As an o/t aside, I'm finding Street View increasingly useful for detective work and arrival planning

Anyway only parking ticket I ever got compared to Clare. Was last year ana.
Back to petrol, since I was in the turbo band all the time so I could keep up then it was drinking it. As it does, this is massively down to the re-map apparently. Better fuel consumption at the low end, but when in the high end it's far worse.
Think I was using twice ass much fuel as Craig when covering the same distances.
Sorry off topic but make me feel better, what was your consumption?

Hey Peter,
I heard your's was dropping to 15mpg at some places, I spent most of my time in 3rd gear at high revs just so I could keep up. Think I was getting around 170 miles to a tank or there abouts. DIS isn't much to go on but seemed to be below 10mpg a lot of the time but almost always below 20mpg.
So 62 litres of petrol giving say 200 miles. Hmmm not so good at all. Thats like 14mpg. Ouchy.
