Bit speechless about this.

Lost count of the conversations I've had with Brian socially and work related too. He was always interesting to talk to, helpful, basically an absolute pleasure to be around ... such a shame when one of the good guys goes.

Likewise I'm shocked by the news.

I met Brain many times over the years and always with a smile, enthusiasm and good chat.
Remembered as a keen (and very fast!) karter, ex-racer, arch-trackdayist and a thoroughly decent chap.
All characters appearing in this post are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
Any references to laptimes, speed or driving on the public highway are purely for dramatic effect.

It does not seem possible that he did the Track Scotland day just over a week ago, and he was the only Elise there. I almost went at the last minute, but the weather put me off.

He wanted to get one in before he went into Hospital last Thursday for an operation, but had no idea that it was going to turn out the way it did. The operation was a success, but then the complications set in, they reckoned a 10,000 to 1 chance, and he died on Monday.

He and Linda were coming to tuttowers this year, so it will be a good chance to remember him amongst his friends that he was so much at home with, and on track where he was at his happiest. He came to all four of tuttowers over the years, can not believe that he will not be here for the final one.

really cannot believe im reading this...

As everyone has said, Brian was a true gentlemen. Out of all of the SE'rs I probably met Brian the most amount of times through karting, trackdays, TT07 etc... he was at my stag karting day last year.

He would go out of his way to come up and chat to me - even if it was just to say hi and ask how i was.

Stunned.

RIP Brian

Gang, I just got this following on the funeral arrangements from a contact in Scottish Enterprise

"Just to let you know that Brian's funeral service will take place on Tuesday 23 February at Hyndland Parish Church, 81 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G12 9JE. It will be followed by a private cremation.

We have been advised that the service will start at 10.00 . There is a slight chance the time may change ."

Brian was one of the really good guys, will be missed

One reads the title and thinks "That can't be that nice bloke who..." and "Maybe there is another Brian J".

Then one reads the other posts thinking "Oh..."

For some reason thinking that because someone seems nice, indeed the almost epitome of a gentleman, it must be someone else.

Only met him a couple of times and yet was genuinely shocked to read this news.

RIP.

I actually had to look through the forum thinking can it really be Brian :|

He was such a lovely genuine guy who was bloody quicker than me at the go karts which frustrated me somewhat

He would always come over and give you his time to catch up find out how me and Holly were doing and was just a real nice nice guy .

Holly and me send our deepest condolences to the family at this hard time

I'm sitting here reading this in dis-belief. Totally shocked.

So sorry to hear this. Never met a truer Gent.

Thoughts are with Linda and the family.
