AFAIK The SEPCS system uses your number plate to measure your speed. Car is logged (reads plate) going through camera A at <time>, then again going through camera B at <time>. Then it is just velociy = distance/time. So if you have no plate you don't even exist in the system.

Yup - although you can watch live streams of it in a control room. I know it's very unlikely to be an issue, but if I'm seen thrashing through at twice the visible speed of the median traffic, I think they'd be doing a screen grab and circulating it... My bike is pretty uncommon now and it can be seen locally all the time.

Plus - sitting at 50, people just fall asleep and drone on - I can see me rolling along at, say 70, and someone just wandering out in front of me. IMO the 50 limit has reduced the standard of driving on that stretch - the only benefit is that the junctions are safer to pull off/on at (assuming of course, there isn't a stolen motor banging down there at 100 that you'd be totally unprepared to see)

Apparently NATO have a bunch of these:

Not 100% accurate, so best used on country lanes rather than built up areas!

I have to admit to finding all these new style responsible motorcyclists a big disappointment

Soon they'll be doing the ironing at home, taking a turn in the kitchen, cutting the grass on a Sunday.........................................
