me and my wife went there in feb for our honeymoon, both loved it and will be going back for sure. also if you stay in the sharm resort only then you don't need to change your money as they accept our money ( think they prefer it ), one last thing the wife came back pregnant...... with twins!!!!!

Ross,

You didnt make it clear if you'r going on a diving holiday or a holiday with a couple of dives.

Irrespective I dont think you'll spend much time in Sharm. it was the original fishing port, but Namma Bay is the "new town" with all the hotels and restaurants referenced above. I worked in Sharm before Namma was built.

There's still some good day boat dive's left if you get up early enough but almost everything close to Namma is pretty much dived out.

If you get a chance put aside one day to climb Mount Sinai..it's stunning if you get up before sunrise. 4hr walk/climb though.

If you are really into your diving you need to get onto a liveaboard and get down to St Johns area..even Elphinstone near Marsa Alam, which is still in my world top ten dive sites is becoming touristy..10...15 boats tied up on the south side by 6am FFS. But the Hammers and Manta's are still there.

If you need any detailed info on the south let me know.

Take care,

Frank

Frank, I will pick your Brains once Clare and Jamie have decided when they are going, as it will be completely diving orientated for them to do their four day Open Water course and get their licenses.

Guys

I work about 100km across the Red Sea from Sharm. Stay at the Regency Hyatt, and try and book a Club Room. It will cost about 300 pound per night, possibly less at that time of year but well worth it. The club room's include breakfast, free soft drinks all day, free Alcohol and nibbles from 7-9pm, but most importantly a private beach and Reef. All of the Sharm diving companies try and take their clients to the reef, it's that good.

Another Bonus is the Go-karting track just outside the hotel, the Biggest carting track in the middle-east and cheap as chips.

All of the cairo based expats use it as the weekend getaway.

The only downside when i stayed there last year was that Craig Burley and Steve Round were there at the same time, F**cking footballers!!!!!

Pm me if you need any other info on egypt, after 4 years of working there i'm quite the expert on getting around.

Congratulations Kirk.

You obviously did not spend much time diving.
