Dave

He is probably ok but as previously stated

Drafts can be cancelled
Drafts can be fake (I know one Fife Dealer who is lying out over £40k on a Range Rover he sols on a dodgy draft)

Electronic transfer to your account is the easy way

Listen to X7LDA, he speaks the truth :D

Bankers drafts can be cancelled i.e if they are stolen. It is just a cheque at the end of the day albeit drawn on the Bank itself.

I am sure Mr Logan Snr can give advice :thumbsup

CHAPS payment would be the preferred option but still involves one of the parties to the transaction having either both the car and the money or no money and no car, if you see what I mean.

Shame that it can't be done during banking hours as you should be able to verify it with the issuing branch.

Crikey that's nice car.

Almost enough to make me want to own a beemer - decent spec, sensible money - Quentin Wilson would surely love it! If it was a diesel I might be thinking about raiding the piggy bank :-) Know a guy with a 330d M-Sport 2 door, that was quite a car.

Sorry you are having bother with the sale. If you can afford to be patient, it will shift if it's as tidy as the spec and pics suggest.

Its gone 8)

Had the Draft verified by the RBS local branch prior to picking the guy up last night.

Bizarre having a trader absolutely delighted with a car and totally unable to fault it, he even had to hand over his "extra" cash as he had no cause to try and knock me down.

Thanks for the advice guys and offers of help, I think I was just being a bit paranoid but still.

He drove away happy, probably until he realised the fuel light came on approx 15 miles down the road. Judged it to perfection

So the hunt begins for a daily smoker..........its getting a bit cold for a 7.

Result :D
I don't think you were being paranoid at all, just cautious. I would have hated to hear about a guy that ended up with your car and you ending up with nothing.
Fraud does happen.
