I thought that running into the back of the bloke in front was pretty straight forward. The bloke behind was too close to stop....

If anything that video exonerates Hamilton
He is cleary right behind the safety car on the way into the corner, probably realises he is a bit too close, pulls way off line and carries on round.
Blame firmly at the door of Webber and Vettel I would say. It would be different is he were to slam on the anchors in the middle of a straight, say like Schumacher done behind the safety at Monza a few years back sending Jenson Button into the wall at 150mph, but thats ok cos he is a Ferrari driver.

NOOPS 160 wrote:I agree Kenny , it looked to me like Hamilton was taking a safer option , perhaps he was told of what was about to happen over the radio

At no point did he actually overtake the SC.

however managed to avoid the collision
Or am I missing something...........

He is suposed to keep within 5 car lenghts of the safety car?
It will be harsh if they penalise him in those conditions?

Actually, 'thumbs up' would mean the gladiater was to be put to death. 'Thumbs down' meant he was to be spared. The exact opposite of how we use the symbols in our culture today.

I remember your quote " I hope he hits the wall"
He is a great driver, just what the sport needed.
